He is survived by his children, Beth Bailey and husband Denny of Troutman, N.C., Matthew Craghead and wife Tara of Cocoa, Fla., Peter Craghead and wife Audra of Hurricane, and Britney Matthews and husband Mark of Teays Valley; five grandsons; and one granddaughter; former wife and friend, Marty Craghead of Troutman, N.C; companion, Carol Lucas of Charleston; and his St. Bernard, Oscar. Burial will follow in Athens Cemetery, Athens. on January 21, 2008.5

Monica Ann Craghead On Saturday, March 12th, 2011, our most loved Monica Craghead Long of Crescent Road, Beckley, passed away at the Bowers Hospice House after an extended illness. She was 69 years of age. Known affectionately as "Mickey" all her life, Monica was born September 7, 1940, at Speedway. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Clarica Robertson Craghead. Her brother, Harry Craghead, has preceded her in death. Monica taught for the Raleigh County Schools for 38 years, retiring from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1999. She was a graduate of Concord College in Athens where she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Monica will live on in the memory of those who hold her dear, including her husband, Harold Long, and daughters, Lisa Long Holt and Shanna Long Holzapfel. Also left to cherish her memory are her sons-in-law, Joseph Holt of Charlotte, NC, and Gregory Holzapfel of Kent, OH; sister-in-law, Donna Craghead of Beckley; niece, Tracy Williams and her husband, Larry, of Beckley; nephew, Christopher Craghead and his wife, Thelma, of Hinton; nephew, Nicholas Craghead and his wife, Kim, of Princeton, and many additional relatives and friends. Monica was very devoted to her three grandchildren, Jordan Holt, Jillian Holt and Jackson Holzapfel whom she treasured dearly. Monica's family wishes to extend their special gratitude to her caregivers at the Bowers Hospice House of Beckley for their loving care in her time of need, Pastor Dewey Lowe for his guidance and support during this difficult time, and all of her friends who provided support and assisted with her care including Corinna Ambrose and Joy Hill. Committal services will at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Harry Dean Craghead Harry Dean Craghead, 62, of Mt. Tabor Road, Beckley, died Sunday evening, March 28, 2010, at Raleigh General Hospital following a sudden illness. Born March 18, 1948, in Mullens, he was the son of the late Paul J. Craghead and Clarica Robertson Craghead. Harry was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had attended Beckley College. For more than 38 years, Harry worked as a plumber and pipefitter throughout West Virginia, and was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 625, Charleston. Harry was a very plain and simple person; he was devoted to his family, loved his grandchildren and enjoyed working on the farm and raising his animals. Harry was a member of the AF & AM Masonic Lodge #95 of Beckley. Those left to cherish his memory, his loving and caring wife of 38 years, Donna Faye Cochran Craghead of Beckley; three children and spouses, Traci Lynn and Larry Williams of Beckley, Christopher Todd and Thelma Craghead of Forest Hill, Paul Nicholas and Kim Craghead of Speedway; his pride and joy, his eight grandchildren, Meghan, Nathan and Larry Evan Williams, Todd and Abby Craghead, Haley, Alli and Carley Craghead; sister, Monica Long and husband Harold "Frosty" of Beckley. Conner, Rocky Mount; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Horton, Raleigh, N.C; three brothers, Mr. Opha of Kimbridge, Mr. Morris Conner, Mr. Maynard Conner, both of Chatham; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at the Boones Chapel Church of the Brethem. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on November 13, 1973.5
