Mr. Walsh was born August 1, 1922, in Bluefield, W.Va., and was a member of Highlawn Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Walsh. He is survived by one son, Alvin Walsh Jr., of Huntington, W.Va; two daughters, Brenda Haworth of Charleston, S.C., and Linda Meadows of Huntington, W.Va; two brothers, Eddie Walsh of Lynchburg, Va., and Velcie Walsh of Charleston, S.C; and five grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to: Shelia, Stephanie, Dr. David Daniels, Dr. Dewayne Tackett, the staff at the Hospice House of Huntington, and Cabell Huntington Home Care for all of their care and support. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. on October 5, 2006.1

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Beard Mortuary. She was born September 8, 1927, in Bluefield, W.Va., the daughter of the late Basil J. and Nettie Hartwell Bailey. She was a very strong and loving mother and grandmother. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Woodrow Wilson, Charles T. and Wilford Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Walsh Sr., of Huntington, W.Va; one son, Alvin L. Walsh Jr. of Huntington, W.Va; two daughters, Brenda J. Haworth of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Linda S. Meadows and her husband William of Huntington. W.Va; five grandchildren, Mark Haworth II, Michael Haworth, Michelle Meadows, Alvie and Lindsey Walsh; two sisters, Evelyn Hayden of Portsmouth, Va., and Betty Hurt of Charleston, S.C; one brother, Bobby Randolph Bailey, and a host of nieces and nephews. The Walsh family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Mary's Medical Center and Hospice of Huntington. on March 8, 2003.1
