He was born May 18, 1934 in Wilkes County to Glen Dewes and Annie Lou Cox Hamby. His parents, one sister, Marshleen Billings, two brothers, Paul Hamby and Wayne Hamby, preceded him in death. Survivors include: two sons, Bruce Hamby of Lenoir, Michael Hamby of Taylorsville; two sisters, Barbara Bowlin of Lenoir, Judy Kilby Barlowe of North Wilkesboro; two brothers, Gwyn Hamby of Lenoir, Doug Hamby of Ferguson; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14 at Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes with Pastor Jerry Alexander and Pastor Jason Whitley officiating. Mrs. Kilby was born in Caldwell County, on December 14, to Glenn D. and Annie Lou Cox Hamby. Mrs. Kilby attended Northside Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. Mrs. Kilby is survived by one daughter, Delta Wyatt Geisinger and her husband, Robert; one son, Jerome Barlowe; one sister Barbara Bowlin of Lenoir; two brothers, Doug Hamby and wife, Barbara of Wilkes and Gwynn Hamby and wife, Linda of Lenoir; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
