Ronald Irvin "Ronnie" Davis Ronald "Ronnie" Irving Davis, age 74 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan, on Monday, January 6, 2025 after complications from multiple strokes. He was born May 12, 1950, first son of the late Howard “Dick” Davis and Opal Sigmon Davis. Surviving are his beloved daughter Erica Davis Milgrim, sister Patricia “Pat” Davis Duer, brother Richard (Charis) Davis, and adored, loving friend Evelyn Trent. A special and heartfelt thank you goes out to his cherished Pastor, Joe Dillon for all the love, support, prayers, encouragement, and visits throughout these past months. Graveside service to follow at Franklin Memorial Park. January 10, 1966, Ronnie was certified as an Eagle Scout by the National Council and he was a 1968 graduate of Franklin County High School. Ronnie was a long-time, dedicated employee of General Electric in Salem, VA for well over forty years before retiring; and he was a loyal member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. He was an extremely intelligent handyman, mechanic, and could repair and build most anything. Ronnie was the man that never sleeps, as he was always busy socializing, going, doing, giving, dancing, cooking, or working on projects 24/7 - living everyday of life to the fullest. He was a constant jokester, never at a loss for words, never met a stranger, and was always willing to go out of his way to lend a hand and help his friends in need no matter what time of day. Ronnie absolutely loved to travel, especially to the Outer Banks and to the beach. He was the collector of all things and loved wheeling and dealing at thrift shops, antique shops, habitat stores, and even antique farm shows. The most cherished and honorable roll he held for the last 19 years was that of a Mason. Ronnie was a dual member of Isaacs Lodge and Rocky Mount Lodge. In addition, he was a Jester in the Shriner’s beginning in 2003.4 He was buried at Franklin Memorial Park, Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia.4 He was born on May 12, 1950 at Franklin Co., Virginia.2,3,4 He married Ethel Ann Webb on May 28, 1971 at Franklin Co., Virginia.2 Ronald Irvin "Ronnie" Davis married Evelynne Reva Rome on August 30, 2003 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 Ronald Irvin "Ronnie" Davis died on January 6, 2025 at Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 74.4

Leon Byrd Thompson was buried at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia.5 He was born on April 21, 1940 at Lashmeet, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2,4,5 He married Patricia Ann “Pat” Davis, daughter of Howard Melvin "Dick" Davis and Opal Dunree Sigmon, on June 5, 1965 at Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia.1 Leon Byrd Thompson and Patricia Ann “Pat” Davis were divorced on July 28, 1976 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.2 Leon Byrd Thompson died on July 13, 2013 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 73.3,4,5 He Leon Byrd Thompson, 73, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2013, from his home. Born on April 21, 1940 to the late Gilmer and Gertrude Thompson in Lashmeet, W.Va., he was also preceded in death by his brother, Blaine Thompson and his sister, Norma Blevins. Leon loved his family and friends. His interest involved Virginia Tech Football, his West Virginia farm place and guns. He gave his heart to Jesus on June 22, 2013. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Thompson served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Princeton High School "Class of 1958". He retired from Virginia Tech after twenty seven years of service. Leon is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Vicki Thompson, of Middletown, Del; brother and sister Larry and Allie, of Greensboro, N.C; sister, Ramona Wall, of Temperance, Mich; brother-in-law, Carl Blevins, of Bluefield, W.Va; stepson, Roy Dean McGlothlin, of North Carolina; special niece, Debbie Thompson Boyd, of Bassett; sister and brother er-in-law, Linda and Karl Ljunggren, Austin, Texas. Also surviving are many other nieces and nephews. on July 19, 2013.4
