Jerry was born on October 13, 1949 in Roanoke. Jerry, the son of the late Wilton Hugh Bryant and Marjorie Scott Bryant, of Vinton, was a graduate of William Byrd High School and Virginia Tech. Jerry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Crigger Bryant; son, Ronald Christopher and wife Jennifer Soltis Bryant, of Charlotte, N.C; daughter, Erin Bryant Rice and husband, Christopher Charles Rice, of Suffolk; son, Travis Wayne Bryant, of Richmond; grandson, Owen Beck Bryant; and granddaughter, Cecilia Carter Rice. He is also survived by his older brother, Jimmy Scott Bryant and wife, Mimi Koster Bryant, of Jacksonville, Fla; aunts, Janet Scott Beck, Jean Scott Lansing, and Virginia Scott Connor; uncle, Richard Scott; in-laws, Billy and Pam Williams and Jeff and Mary Crigger; as well as other family members. He is predeceased by his younger brother, Ronald David Bryant. An avid sports fan himself, Jerry enjoyed coaching youth sports for much of his life. He also loved college football, and spent many Saturdays cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies and Clemson Tigers. A service in celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, where Jerry was a long-time member, with the Rev. Bart Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, as well as immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. William Fintel, Dr. Nina K. Sweeney, as well as the staff at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. A graduate of Chicora High Schoo, he attended the University of South Carolina and was a member of the Elks Club. Surviving, in addition to his father of Columbia are; his widow, Mrs. Mary Patricia Macloskie Bowman of Mount Pleasant; a son, Terrance P. Bowman of James Island; twp stepsons, Philip S. Baynes III and Samuel M. Baynes, both of Mount Pleasant; a brother, William M. Bowman of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Anita D. Godwin of Columbia and Mrs. Bonnie B. Gunn of Raleigh. on April 13, 1977.²

     William Mark "Bill" Bowman William "Bill" Mark Bowman, 56, of Cary, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his home. Mr. Bowman was born in Charleston, SC on October 8, 1955 to Paul Everett Bowman and Thelma Bryant Bowman. Bill owned AlTech Copier Dealership in Cary. He loved to fish and the mountains. Bill was an avid golfer. He enjoyed driving to the mountains and getting lost and finding his way back. He cherished his family and friends loving to tell them stories and making them laugh. He was an enthusiastic UNC Basketball fan. Above all, Bill was a loving, caring, passionate person who will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Trannie Bowman; son: Bryce Bowman of Cary; daughters: Heather D. Bowman of Raleigh, and Candice Bowman of Apex; sisters: Bonnie B. Gunn and husband, Jack of Cary and Nita Godwin of Cary; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bowman of Cary; and grandson: Brandon Gilchrist. Bill is also survived by his nephew, Bryant Tant and wife Valerie, and great nephew, Corbett Tant all of Apex. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 pm Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex NC. A funeral service will begin at 12 in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home.
