Police say he was found in the Southwest corner of the Safeway Super S parking lot at Delaware and Peninsula Avenues at 11:58 p.m. Monday after a citizen reported seeing a man down. Officers reported he had suffered loss of blood from a facial injury but was alive when taken by ambulance to the hospital. An autopsy was being performed to determine cause of death. Survivors include his wife Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Joan D. Torrise and Mrs. Mary Ann Torrise, San Mateo; his mother, Mrs. Ellen L. Gerber, Audubon, Iowa, and 8 grandchildren. Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 o'clock at the Crosby-N. Gray Chapel, Burlingame. Requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Catherine's Church, Burlingame, with interment at North Platte, Nebr. on February 11, 1971.⁵
