She was born Dec. 3, 1924 the daughter of David and Iva Good Moyer. She married LeRoy Anderson on Jan. 29, 1972 in Kinross, IA. Bernice is survived by her husband LeRoy; her mother, Iva Moyer of South English, IA; four children: Patricia Foley of Cedar Rapids, IA; David Tripses and Mary Ellen Butterbaugh both of Iowa City, IA; and Vernon Tripses of South English, IA; six step grandchildren, Dick Anderson and Theresa Waltman both of Marble Falls, TX; Debra Philips of Victorville, CA; Julie Bolduc of Burkburnett, TX; and Eric Anderson of Webster, IA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Marian Williamson of Coggon; four brothers, Raymond Moyer of Washington, IA; David Moyer of Iowa City, IA; Dean Moyer of Millersburg, IA and Robert Moyer of South English, IA; nieces, nephews and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father. Services were held Aug. 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Orth English, IA with Rev. Martin Manning officiating. His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Tapscott; a son, Jerold Tapscott and wife, Vicki, and a sister, Velma Gigliotti, all of Kansas City; two grandsons, Jerrod and Jason; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Charter Funerals, Kansas City. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City. on January 15, 2004.⁵

Jerry was born on Sept. 3, 1953 to Cleo & Dorothy (Tripses) Tapscott in Kansas City, MO, where he spent his life. He graduated from Van Horn High School, attended Longview Community College and received a degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 1977. Jerry worked for the Cities of Independence & Kansas City as a supervisor in Street & Traffic; retiring after 28 years of service. He was an Eagle Scout, a Sachum in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, assistant Scout Master for Troop #21, Cub Master for Pack #21, and District Member at-large for Pioneer Trails District. He was a member of the East Gate Lodge #630, the Travelers Club, the Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine, OED Chapter #367, and active in many professional Engineering Societies. Jerry was an avid bowler, participating in ABC Tournaments for over 25 years. He loved the outdoors, camping at H. Roe Bartle, hunting and reading. Jerry belonged to Mt. Washington United Methodist Church and their choir. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Cleo, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home; sons, Jerrod and Jason; his step-son, Charlie Kessler; his mother, Dorothy; a granddaughter, Gabrielle; as well as many relatives and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers at the Hospice House and many friends. His loving ways and contagious smile will be greatly missed. on April 5, 2011.²
