Born Dec. 12, 1921 at Princeton, he was the son of the late George R. and Maymie Gunter Bowling. He was educated in Mercer County and had severed with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a retired instrument worker for the Celanese Corp. at Narrows, Va., with more than 43 Years of services. He was a member of the Textile Worker Union of America. He was an active member of the Melrose Presbyterian Church in Princeton, and was a member of the AF & AM Masonic Lodge 134 of Princeton. For many years, he worked with the Civil Air Patrol of Mercer County. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Bowling. Survivors include three sons, William Joseph Bowling of Houston, Texas, Jonathan Wesley Bowling of Roanoke, Va., and Carl Jeffrey Bowling of the home; one sister, Irene B. Roach of Easley, S.C; and one brother, Carl E. Bowling of Arlington Heights, Ill. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. on November 12, 1998.⁶

     Wiley Buford Lewis was born on July 18, 1937 at St. Paul, Wise Co., Virginia.^1,4,2,3 He married Annabelle Mabe, daughter of William Johnson Mabe and Mabel Clara Settle, on July 13, 1964 at Castlewood, Russell Co., Virginia.¹ Wiley Buford Lewis Wiley Buford Lewis passed away January 25, 2018 in Fort Collins, CO. He was born in Russell County Virginia on July 18, 1937 to Arthur and Nell Lewis. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Agriculture Education and after serving in the Army for a few years. He returned to Virginia to teach in several high schools in the Southwestern part of the state. He then returned to college at West Virginia University and Ohio State University to get his Master’s and Doctorate degrees. From there he stayed in the educational field teaching at Virginia Tech, Ohio State University and finished his teaching career at Colorado State University, where he retired in 2002. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister Shirley Mounts. He is survived by his sister Bernice Donley (David) of San Diego, CA, and niece Deanna Van Valer (John) of Folsom, CA and nephew Allan Donley (Mary) of Kirkland, WA. on February 4, 2018.³ He died on January 25, 2048 at Fort Collins, Larimer Co., Colorado, at age 110.³

     Carson Roger Taylor was buried at Belcher Family Cemetery, Coaldale, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^8,1 His Social Security Number was 236-56-1381.⁹ He was born on November 9, 1935 at Goodwill, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^9,1,2 He married Patricia Elaine Martin on August 19, 1959 at Sparta, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.^7,3 Carson Roger Taylor died on November 11, 1965 at Goodwill, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 30.^9,1 He A 30-year-old resident of Freeman, Carson Roger Taylor, was found dead in an auto on Goodwill Mountain in Mercer County early Saturday, apparent victim of suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. State Police said the victim was found by a brother, Mark Taylor, and his father, Fizer Taylor, of Bluewell. He was lying in the rear seat of the auto and a garden hose had been run from the exhaust pipe to the interior of the car. He had been residing with his parents in Bluewell, and was last seen Thursday afternoon. He was believed to have died Friday. on November 14, 1965.¹⁰
