Burial will follow at College Station City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry and Jeff Taylor, Tony, Neil and Peter Scofelia, and Daniel Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan and Michael Layman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Building Fund. on March 20, 2003.5

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, special friends Dr. Heber and Miriam Ethridge and a half sister Patty Adkins of Tampa, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Lee, and brothers Eddie, Billy and Elmer. on November 2, 2011.5

She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Ruby Raney and Robert Harold Wren. Dot, as she was called by her many friends, graduated high school in Ft. Worth and in 1947 met and married Dee W. Layman. She worked for the government while Dee completed his education in geology at TCU. They traveled early in their marriage with Monsanto Corp., and settled in Jackson in 1959. They moved to Madison in 1974. Dot loved Dee, her Lord, her horses and her dogs. She was an avid bridge player and a long time member of PETROL. She was also a pastel artist. At the time of Dee's death, October 31, 2011, they had been married for 64 years. She is also preceded in death by her twin sister Maureen Harris and her younger sister, Mary Nell Wilson. She is survived by special friends Dr. Heber and Miriam Etheridge. Dot and Miriam had a close relationship for many years, and referred to Miriam as the daughter she never had. She is also survived by nephews, Johnny Harris of Ft. Worth and Jimmy Harris of Navasota, TX. on September 9, 2012.1
