Hines: brothers Ted and Robert Simpson: and sister Georgette Carnes. Survived by daughter Sandra Summers of New Lebanon: son Robert Hines & wife Kathy of Beavercreek, OH: sister Gladys Carnes of New Lebanon: and brother Joe Simpson of Trotwood: grandchildren Amy Novak, Robyn Laird, Kristy Lee, Brock and Colleen Hines: great grandchildren Kayla and Ryan Novak, Autumn and Austin Laird, Stephen and AnnaBella Lee: and great great granddaughter Emelyn Mitchell. David was born in Jonesville, Virginia on July 9, 1950, the son of Ray and Mary Jeveline (Elkins) Hines. He married Nancy Mundhenk on March 14, 1980. David was a graduate of GMI and was a member of Theta Xi. He retired from Delphi and was currently employed by TMG Event Marketing. Dave loved golf, spending time with family and friends, and planning new adventures with Nancy. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy; daughters, Cassie (Mark Silvola) Morgan, Molly and husband Erik Surridge; grandchildren, Gage, Troy, Lauren; siblings, Joyce Tipton, Lowell and wife Jenny Hines, Bill and wife MaryEllen Hines, Dan Hines, Teresa and husband Tony Izor and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. on July 11, 2015.¹

Joann was born in Battle Creek on May 27, 1924, the daughter of Donald B. and Josephine (Nover) Willitts and graduated from St. Philips High School in 1941. She was a bank clerk for forty-three years working at Security National Bank, Lake-view State Bank and last at Michigan National Bank retiring in 1982. Joann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. On April 14 1955, Joann Elizabeth Willitts married Elmer L. Hines in Battle Creek, he preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Theresa M. Swafford-Mathers of Galesburg, stepson, Lester Hines of Terre Haute, Indiana, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a sister, Margaret I. Ruggeri of Lakeland Florida. A sister, Marian E. Willitts and a granddaughter preceded Joann in death. Friends may call at the Farley -Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. and where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Father Stephen Rodrigo officiating. on March 20, 2003.³

     Theresa M. Hines Theresa M. Mathers, age 54, of Battle Creek died Sunday afternoon, October 20, 2013. She was born in Battle Creek on November 16, 1958, the loving daughter of Elmer L. and Joann E. (Willitts) Hines and graduated from Lakeview High School. Theresa is survived by her 4 children, Wesley Swafford, Margaret Mathers, Jacob Mathers and Sean Mathers, all of Battle Creek, and her special cousins, Josephine and Sandy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lester Hines. Theresa was a devout Christian who loved to read her Bible and was an active member of Victory Life Church in Battle Creek. She was an avid animal lover who also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013.
