     Joyce Leona Best was buried at Callensburg Cemetery, Callensburg, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.¹ She was born on May 9, 1948 at Callensburg, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.¹ She died on April 5, 2018 at Cranberry Township, Venango Co., Pennsylvania, at age 69.¹ She Joyce Leona Best, 69, of Cranberry, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at her home. She was born in Callensburg on May 9, 1948, to Patricia (Amsler) Best of Cranberry and the late Orval Best. She graduated from Cranberry High School in 1968. Joyce worked as a nurse’s aide for ten years at the Franklin Hospital. She also worked at Kings Restaurant in Reno. Joyce had a passion for animals, enjoyed reading books about Native American Indians, and collecting lighthouses. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Best of Cranberry; two brothers, Walter Best and his wife Barb of Emlenton, and Kenneth Best and his wife Louise of Oil City; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Best and Sandra Kysor; an aunt, Charlotte Thiess of San Leandro, California; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Armand; and two sisters, Vicki and Joan. There will be no visitation or funeral service held. Private interment will be in the Callensburg Cemetery, Clarion County. on April 6, 2018.

     Vickie Elaine Best was buried at Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.² She Vickie Elaine Resinger, age 56, of Meadville, died at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2007 in the Meadville Medical Center. Born July 7, 1950, in Callensburg, she was the daughter of Orval and Patricia Amsler Best. She was a 1968 graduate of Cranberry High School. She was of the Protestant faith. Ms. Resinger enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends, and her dog, JoJo. Surviving are her mother, Patricia Best of Franklin; two daughters; Diane Walker and husband Sammy of Tampa, Florida, and Patricia Sibble and husband Delbert of Franklin; two grandchildren, Sammy Walker, Jr. of Tampa, and Roberta Sue Sibble of Franklin; three step-grandchildren, Carrie Sibble and Timothy Sibble, both of Grove City, and Chester Sibble of Franklin; three brothers, Kenneth Best and wife Louise of Oil City, Ronald Best and wife Theresa of Erie, and Walter Best and wife Barbara of Emlenton; a sister, Joyce Best of Franklin; and her companion of twenty-five years, George Gardner of Meadville. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Orval Best; a brother, Armond Best; and a sister, Joan Irwin. Friends will be received Wednesday (May 2nd) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Thursday (May 3rd) at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gary Small, pastor of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church, officiating. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing in Daytona Beach and traveling on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The times he spent with his family at Ocean Isle Beach and Hawaii were special to him. Mr. Sherrill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alma Dell Sherrill; children and spouses, William Jr. and Jennifer Sherrill of Davidson, Laura Sherrill and Terence Wesley-Smith of Kaneohe, HI, Doreen and Stephen Kowalczyk of Lake Wiley, SC and Randy and Mary Lisa Sherrill of Gastonia; grandchildren, William Sherrill, III, Kate Sherrill, Ian Wesley-Smith, Brendan Wesley-Smith, Krista Kowalczyk and David Kowalczyk; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Beatrice Sherrill of Dunwoody, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.      Robert Worth Sherrill was born on January 2, 1933 at Alameda Co., California.³ He married Beatrice E. Scott in May, 1957 at Dade Co., Florida.⁴ Robert Worth Sherrill died on March 17, 2020 at Dunwoody, DeKalb Co., Georgia, at age 87.⁵ He Robert Worth Sherrill passed away on March 17, 2020, in Dunwoody, GA, at the age of 87. Robert graduated from UGA with a master's in science and a doctorate in philosophy and served in the U.S Navy, rising to the rank of Commander. Born in Dickson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Nila Dell Warf Fox. Mrs. Sherrill lived in Daytona Beach, FL where she worked for 28 years with Daytona Beach Ophthalmology. She moved to Gastonia where she worked for 15 years with Christine Webb Alley, CPA, PA before retiring. Mrs. Sherrill was a longstanding member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Seekers class and the Road Runners group. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Clover Area Assistance Center. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Sherrill is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Charles Sherrill, Sr; brothers, J.E. Fox and Euel Fox. Mrs. Sherrill is survived by her children and their spouses, William C., Jr. and Jennifer Sherrill of Davidson, Laura Sherrill and Terence Wesley-Smith of Kaneohe, HI, Doreen and Stephen Kowalczyk of Lake Wiley, SC, and Randy and Mary Lisa Sherrill of Gastonia; grandchildren, William Sherrill, III, Katherine Sherrill, Ian Wesley-Smith, Brendan Wesley-Smith, Krista Kowalczyk and David Kowalczyk. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Mrs. Sherrill beginning at 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the Gallery of the First Presbyterian Church with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church.
