She was born on Friday, October 16, 1925, the daughter of the late John Raymond Webster & Eva Speer Webster. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Conner; son, Buddy Gunter; daughter, Christine Talley & brother, Charles Webster. Sarah was a member of The Church of Christ in Salem, Va. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Ann Angerman (Henry), Jane Crawford & Jenny Rankin; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren & thirteen great-great-grandchildren.³ She was born on October 16, 1925 at Fairfax Co., Virginia.^1,2,3 As of March 17, 1970,her married name was Conner.¹ She married Harold Dempster Conner, son of Frank Dempster Conner and Ada Bell/Belle Pruett, on March 17, 1970 at Arlington, Virginia.^4,1,5,3 Sarah Ella Webster died on April 29, 2023 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 97.³

(Bill) Kitts, age 88, of Cibolo, TX was released from suffering on August 15, 2005. Bill was born on January 5, 1917 in Bluefield, West Virginia to James Walter and Ella Hewson Kitts. He graduated from Beaver High School in Bluefield, where he was an accomplished athlete. He later moved to the Washington D.C. area to work with the Department of the Navy and married Dorothy Beatrice Connor on July 24, 1939. Shortly after, he volunteered for active duty in WWII with the U.S. Navy; stationed in the South Pacific. Bill served his country with pride and was truly a member of the greatest generation. After serving in WWII, he worked for the Department of Defense in Washington D.C. In 1964, he relocated to Texas with his family and was employed with NASA at the Johnson Space Center as a cryogenic engineer. He contributed to environmental simulations for various space missions including Apollo. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge of the District of Columbia and continued his service to his country in the Naval Reserve until retirement. After his retirement, he moved to the San Antonio area, where he pursued his true passion as avid golfer and amateur golf club designer. He was most proud of finally shooting his age in a golf game, a very rare accomplishment. Wife Dorothy Beatrice Kitts, second wife Mary Delores Kitts, brothers Vernon, James, and sister Evelyn Patterson precede Bill in death. Survivors include: brothers Hewson Kitts, E.H. Kitts and wife Montrial, Reverend A.S. Kitts and wife Sue, Louie D. Kitts and wife Ingrid and sister Betty Palmer and husband Chuck. Children: Tom Kitts and wife, Terri, Steven "Randy" Kitts and wife Jan, W.T. "Terry" Kitts and wife Bonnie and daughter Donna Kitts Robinson and husband Ken. Surviving stepchildren include: Kenneth Langston and wife Shirley, Glen Langston and wife Tara, Curtis Langston and wife Robin and Kristina Ybanez and husband Juan. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. on August 17, 2005.⁶

     Roger Dale Spangler Roger D. Spangler "RD or hoot" age 73 passed away Monday, September 28, 2020, at the WVU Medical CCU. Born on January 24, 1947 in Ballard, WV, he was the son of the late Arch Spangler Jr and Maude Frances Spangler. Roger was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Ballard, WV. Roger worked for Appalachian Power, Celanese, Elmac, Fairchild and as a sales Engineer with SPX Air Treatment upon retirement. Roger was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019, and won that battle in the spring of 2020. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lynda Spangler of Ballard, WV. He is also survived by his only sister, Dreama Sibold, her husband Wayne Sibold and nephew Dewey Sibold of Ballard, WV; one daughter, Diana Christian and her husband Harold Edward Christian of Jackson Springs, NC, and grandchildren Katlin Wajeel and Zachary Christian; along with three great grandchildren; Titus, Gatlin and Jericho. Also surviving is his one son, Archie Spangler of Catlett, Va, and grandchildren Austin and Cambria. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who always put his family first. His hobbies include restoring vehicles with a lifelong friend. His "Pride and Joy" is a 1949 Chevrolet pickup truck which can be seen throughout Monroe County and the envy of many.³ He was born on January 24, 1947 at Ballard, Monroe Co., West Virginia.³ He married Lynda Kay Radford on June 11, 1965 at Ballard, Monroe Co., West Virginia.² Roger Dale Spangler died on September 28, 2020 at Morgantown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, at age 73.³

     Rebecca Faye Sibold was buried at Orchard Cemetery, Ballard, Monroe Co., West Virginia.² She Rebecca Faye, two and a half day old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sibold of Ballard died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1971, in the University Medical Center, Morgantown. Surviving, in addition to the parents, are a brother, Dewey Wayne Sibold, at home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sibold of Peterstown; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Spangler. Jr., of Ballard. Funeral services were conducted the following Tuesday afternoon in the First Missonary Baptist Church of Ballard with the Rev. Kelly Bane officiating. Burial followed in the Orchard Cemetery at Ballard.⁴ She was born on September 17, 1971 at West Virginia.² She died on September 19, 1971 at Morgantown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia.^2,3,4

A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on April 16, 1919, and was the son of the late James M. and Clara French Burton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peyton Burton and Perry Burton, and a sister, Olivia Warner. He was a veteran of World War II, and was a retired employee of the Hoechst/Celanese Fibers Company plant at Narrows. He is survived by his wife, Inez B. Burton of Narrows; a stepdaughter, Pamela Stephens of Rich Creek, and a stepgranddaughter, Mecalla Stephens of Rich Creek. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Bastian. on May 20, 1996.⁷

She was born in Rocky Gap, Va. on April 23, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Dillard and Bernice Conner Conley. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Conley Havens. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful, lifelong member of the Rocky Gap United Methodist Church, member of the United Methodist Women and church choir. She lovingly took on everyone's burdens, including God's creatures, great and small. In addition to her loving husband of 61 years, Glen, she will be cherished by two daughters, Cyndy Tolbert and Dee Dee Smith and husband Steve; three sons, Tim, Mike, and Chris Harless and wife Andrea; seven grandchildren, Josh Havens and wife Kari, Jordan Havens, Heather and Hope Harless, Eric and Tyler Harless, and Jamie Tolbert; four great-grandchildren, Breana, Dylan, Jacob and Jaxon. Graveside services will be held at Boyd Cemetery, Narrows, Va. on December 28, 2012.⁴

     Glen Douglas Harless was born on June 26, 1931 at Bland Co., Virginia.^1,2,3 He married Shirley Ann Conley, daughter of Dillard Taylor Conley and Bernice Virginia Conner, on December 24, 1951 at Narrows, Giles Co., Virginia.^1,4 Glen Douglas Harless died on March 31, 2010 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 78.⁵
