"Dennie" Burdette on December 26, 1951 at Kenna, Jackson Co., West Virginia.2,3,4 May Alice Elmore died on December 18, 1952 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 17.3,4 She Mrs. Mary Alice Elmore Burdette, 17, of Sissonvllle, died last night in a local hospital 24 hours after giving birth to her first child, a daughter. Her death was attributed to complications which arose during childbirth. The unnamed daughter was reported this morning to be in excellent condition. Mrs. Burdette, the wife of Denny Burdette, was born in Kanawha county Feb. 23, 1935. She had been a lifelong resident of the county. She attended Sissonville high school. Surviving besides her husband and two-day-old daughter are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Elmore of Quick; five brothers, Herbert, John, James, Andrew and Willard Burdette, all at home; two sisters, Jo Ann and Arbutis Burdette, both at home; and her grandmother, Mrs. Molly Cantor of Martin's Branch. The body is at Long, Johhson and Fisher mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Advent Christian church at Grapevine near Sissonville with the Rev. Pat Berry officiating. Burial will be in Beane cemetery at Sissonville. on December 19, 1952.4
