     Alice Faye Duncan Alice F. (Duncan) Bortner, 75, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Woodrow W. Bortner, Jr. to whom she was married for 50 ½ years. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on January 17, 1946 in Floyd, VA, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Margie (Cox) Duncan. Alice was a seamstress for Tighe Industries, Inc. until her retirement. Mrs. Bortner was a member of Water’s Edge United Methodist Church. She loved sewing, hummingbirds, flowers and her tomatoes. Along with her husband Woodrow, Alice leaves two sons, Glenn Simpkins, Jr. and his wife, Laurie of Baltimore and Woodrow Bortner and his wife, Corynne of Newberrytown; three daughters, Dorothy Simpkins of St. Petersburg, FL, Susan Gordon of Vero Beach, FL and Angela Godfrey and her husband, Ken of Windsor; 18 grandchildren; at least 24 great grandchildren; brother, Elmer Duncan of Northern PA; and two sisters, Mary Snavely and her husband Floyd of Indiana and Brenda Mowrer and her husband, Charlie of Loch Haven.¹ She was buried at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, York Co., Pennsylvania.¹ Her married name was Simpkins.¹ She married Glenn Simpkins.¹ Alice Faye Duncan was born on January 17, 1946 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of December, 1970,her married name was Bortner.⁵ She married Woodrow Wilson Bortner Jr. in December, 1970 at York Co., Pennsylvania.^1,5 Alice Faye Duncan died on July 25, 2021 at York, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 75.¹

     Infant Duncan was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on November 7, 1946 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He died on November 30, 1946 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹

     Her married name was Tucker.³ Cheryl Dianne Duncan married Unknown Tucker.³ Cheryl Dianne Duncan was born on August 3, 1953 at Radford, Virginia.² As of May 10, 1981,her married name was Cunningham.⁴ She married Steven Michael Cunningham on May 10, 1981.⁴ Cheryl Dianne Duncan and Steven Michael Cunningham were divorced on May 21, 1985 at Collier Co., Florida.⁵ Cheryl Dianne Duncan died on April 6, 2021 at Florida at age 67.⁴

     William Elliott Duncan was born on April 10, 1948 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² He married Anna May Frantz on December 20, 1969 at York Co., Pennsylvania.³ William Elliott Duncan died on March 22, 2019 at age 70.⁵

     John Julias Duncan was born on May 17, 1952 at Radford, Virginia.² He married Sharon Lynn Graham in January, 1971 at York Co., Virginia.³ John Julias Duncan died on June 30, 2020 at Pennsylvania at age 68.⁵

     His Social Security Number was 163-48-0682.² Mark Anthony Duncan was born on March 29, 1958 at York, York Co., Pennsylvania.^2,3 He died on December 7, 2005 at age 47.² He JOHNSTOWN - Mark Anthony Duncan, 47, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. Bom March 29, 1958, in York, he was the son of the late Isaac and Margie Cox Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a Navy veteran. He is survived by sisters and brothers, Alice Bortner of Windsor, Cheryl Tucker of Ocala, Fla., Mary Suavely of Plymouth, Ind., Brenda Mower of Columbia, William Duncan of York Haven, and John and Elmer Duncan, both of Wrightsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leonard Shenk. There will be no viewing or visitation. on December 9, 2005.³

     Anna May Frantz was born on May 1, 1948 at York, York Co., Pennsylvania.¹ As of December 20, 1969,her married name was Duncan.¹ She married William Elliott Duncan, son of Isaac Herbert Duncan and Margie Evlyne Cox, on December 20, 1969 at York Co., Pennsylvania.¹ Anna May Frantz died on July 3, 2017 at Pennsylvania at age 69.¹ She York Haven - Anna M. (Frantz) Duncan, 69, died at 9:30 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Margie. She was the wife of William Duncan whom she married 47 years ago on December 20, 1969. Anna was born May 1, 1948 in York and was the daughter of the late James and Phyllis (Wagner) Frantz. In 1967 she graduated from Dallastown High School in Dallastown. She retired in 2015 from Central High School in York. In addition to her husband, William, Anna is survived by her daughter, Margie Duncan-Weirich and her husband, Timothy of Manchester; two grand-daughters, April and Amber; and her two sisters, Darlene Ely of Manchester and Charlene Shank of Dover. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Frantz, Jr. on July 14, 2017.¹
