Westfall, with whom she made her home; a son, Jerry W. Chandler of Colorado Springs, Colo; two brothers, John D. Slack of Clendenin and Luther P. Slack of Blue Creek, W.Va; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Church of the Nazarene, Clendenin. Burial will be in Koontz Family Cemetery. on March 16, 1982.⁴

Surviving: wife, Violet Slack; daughters, Brenda Young, Teresa Seabolt and Patricia Shamblin of Clendenin, Barbara Strickland of Bomont; sister, Elizabeth Wotring of Charleston; brother, William Slack of Dunbar; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. There will be no service. Burial will be in Slack Family Cemetery, Clendenin. on February 7, 2000.⁴
