He worked for Wohl Shoe Company in St. Louis for twenty-four years and was a member of the Teamster's Union. He worked for General Motors for nineteen years and was a member of UAW Local 1999. Mr. Turnquist served his country in the U. S. Army from 1957 until 1959. He has been a resident of Norman since 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Golden Agers. He was also a member of the Norman Parkinson's Support Group. Mr. Turnquist was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Colleen Turnquist; a sister, Pat Wilmeshier and a brother, Norman Turnquist. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Kay) Turnquist of the home; two sons, Gary, of St. Louis, MO and Michael and his wife, Jamie of Dallas, TX; one granddaughter, Savannah, of Dallas, TX and two sisters, Jeanette Mackie of Blue Springs, MO and Darlene Reynolds of St. Louis, MO. on June 4, 2002.1
