Police reported Mullins opened the glove compartment of the truck and a pistol fell out. As he was replacing it the trigger caught on something in the compartment and the weapon discharged.      Ronnie Keith McCloud Ronnie K. McCloud, 45, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. The native of Washington, D. C., was a graduate of Garfield High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, where he was the recipient of the prestigious Virginia State Governor's Honor. He attended college on a baseball scholarship, and received numerous honors and awards throughout his high school and college career. He was employed as general superintendent for McKnight Construction Company of Augusta, Georgia, for the past 23 years. He was a member of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, and the Evans Heights Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Terri DeLoach McCloud of Glennville; two sons, Justin McCloud and Chase McCloud, both of Glennville; his mother, Joyce Ann McCloud of Stafford, Virginia; his father and stepmother, Vernon D. and Nancy McCloud of Goldvein, Virginia; two sisters, Teresa King of Dumfries, Virginia, and Katie McCloud of Goldvein, Virginia; one brother, Randie Lynn McCloud of Woodbridge, Virginia; his grandmother, Murlee McCloud of Bridgeport, Alabama; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews in West Virginia, Ohio, and Alabama. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Glennville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Rustin and Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Burial was in Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. He was employed with The Southern Company at Plant Hatch as a Senior Reactor Operator where he was the youngest Senior Reactor Operator with the Southern Company. He also loved motorsports and to live life to the fullest. He was member of the Glennville First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, and paternal grandmother Joyce Ann McCloud. She had a career in nursing and was a member of the National League of Nursing. She was a member of the Dickenson County VFW Ladies Auxiliary and always very patriotic. Her joys in life were her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dallas Eskridge, Jr., a brother, Victor Stanley and a special nephew, Timothy Lee Stanley. Survivors include her daughter Vicki and husband Rick Kay of Seymour, Tennessee and Shawna and her husband Matthew Keith of Clintwood, Virginia. Surviving grandchildren are Andrew Ryan Lyle, Dallas Logan Eskridge, Spencer Allen Eskridge and Parker Ray Keith. Survivors also include sisters Shirley and husband Clayton Meadows of Roxboro, North Carolina, Carolyn and husband Frank Hall of Clintwood, Virginia, Janie and husband Steve Cook of White Pine, Tennessee. Other survivors are brothers Joseph Hamilton and wife Barbara of Manassas, Virginia and Bobby Hamilton of Clintwood, Virginia.¹ Her married name was Eskridge.³ She married Michael Dallas Eskridge, son of Arvin Mason Eskridge and Evelyn Virginia McCune.³ Grace Darlene Stanley was born on May 2, 1954 at Wise Co., Virginia.² She died on May 26, 2009 at Virginia at age 55.¹
