He was a graduate of Princeton High School Class of 1967 and had served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was of the Protestant faith and a life long resident of Princeton. He was a former employee for Princeton Armature and for the Industrial Plating Company of Princeton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Michelle Abshire, and a sister. Survivors include, in addition to his mother, one son, Adam Abshire of Princeton; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Abshire of Pipestem; several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 27, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Reverend Charles Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. on April 26, 1998.⁵
