Mrs. Eslinger was a clerk in the insurance department at U.A.P. Clinic, Terre Haute, IN. Christine was born July 18, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas the daughter of the late Max Wayne and Margueritte Saunders Martin. She married Norman Verlin Eslinger, Jr. March 21, 1967 in Paris, IL and he passed away May 12, 2011. She is survived by her children, Christie Cox and her husband Jerry of St. Joseph, IL, Tessie Herdes and her husband Michael of Clay City, IL; her grandchildren Macie and Devyn Kesner of Clay City, IL, Lydia and Mega Herdes both of Clay City, IL, Nicole, Chas, Alex and Max Cox all of St. Joseph, IL; her brothers Max Martin of Harlington, TX and John Martin and his wife Jean of Franklin, IN and her sister J. KaAlie Keendoka of Chesterton, IL. Services for Mrs. Eslinger will be 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Raymond Roberts officiating. Eslinger, Sr. and Thelda Maxine Entrican Eslinger. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. Norman married Christine L. Martin Eslinger March 21, 1967 in Paris. He is survived by his mother of Paris; his wife of Paris; his children and their spouses, Christie (Jerry) Cox of St. Joseph, IL and Tessie (Michael) Herdes of Clay City, IL; his grandchildren Marcie and Devyn Kesner of Clay City, IL, Lydia Herdes and Megan Herdes of Clay City, Nicole Cox, Chas Cox, Alex Cox and Max Cox all of St. Joseph, IL; his brothers Ernest Eslinger, James Pitts, and Harvey Eslinger all of Paris, Marvin Eslinger of Evansville, IL; his sisters Karen Pine and Kelly Tinsman both of Paris. Norman was preceded in death by his father and his brother Brian Eslinger. Norman was a self-employed antique and collectables dealer for several years. He served as pastor at the Embarrass Community church for many years. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Paris.      Jonathan Joseph Martin Jonathan Joseph Martin, 40, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Columbus. He was a resident of Edinburgh and a former resident of Franklin. He was born on August 30, 1979 in Warren, Michigan, the son of John and Jean (Skeet) Martin. His mother lovingly survives. He is also survived by his wife, Robin Halcomb; children, A.J. and Molly Martin; sister, Kerry (Johnny) Balding and brother, Max J. (Courtney) Martin. He was preceded in passing by his father, John E. Martin. Jon was a 1997 graduate of Franklin Community High School and attended Vincennes University. He worked as a Sales Associate at Circle K in Franklin and Edinburgh and had also worked at Little Caesar’s. He worked for many years in his family business at J B’s Pizza in Franklin.2 He married Robin Halcomb.2 Jonathan Joseph Martin was born on August 30, 1979 at Warren, Macomb Co., Michigan.2 He died on December 4, 2019 at Columbus, Bartholomew Co., Indiana, at age 40.2
