(Strine) Reed, 74, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, in Beech Grove. She was a resident of Indianapolis. She was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Wabash County, the daughter of James P. and Bessie Gertrude (Yates) Strine. She married Carson Reed on April 1, 1945, and he survives. Other survivors include a son, James Carson Reed of Mt Camel; a daughter, Darla Gard of Indianapolis; two sisters, Shirley Chapman and Very Lankford of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, one step-grandchild and 10 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Strine. She was employed for 40 years as a home nurse caregiver and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Burial will be in the Allendale Cemetery in Wabash County. on February 10, 2003.2

Jack Duane Schonert Sr. Jack Duane Schonert Sr. was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Saturday, February 16, 2013, after a year long battle with cancer. He was 76. Mr. Schonert was born April 6, 1936 in Big Rapids to Charles and Ethel (Bush) Schonert. He graduated from Evart High School in 1954. Jack married Yvonne Warden February 25, 1955 at the Faith Bible Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Schonert learned to cut meat at Curtis's Grocery in Evart at the age of 17, which was a skill he used his entire life. He moved to Kalamazoo after marriage and was a butcher in a meat department learning more and more and then became manager. A job at Orton's IGA brought Jack and his family back to Evart, where he worked until he bought the store with his good friend and partner, Marvin Cass. Later his friend and son, Jack Schonert Jr., became his business partner. Jack was an active member of Faith Bible Church, where he led the congregation in music, taught classes, served on the Deacon Board, and encouraged and mentored many people. He was very active in Gideon's International, speaking and distributing God's word. His wife Yvonne Schonert of Evart, 3 daughters, Barbara Smith of Ithaca, Melody (Bert) Walker of Big Rapids, Sara (Steve) Egloff of Alma, son, Jack (Lori) Schonert of Marion, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Charles (Winona) Schonert of Cadillac and James (Linda) Schonert of Evart survive him. His parents, brother Richard Schonert and son-in-law Bill Smith preceded him in death. Internment will be in the Sylvan Township Cemetery. The family would like to say "Thanks" to the many friends and Hospice of Michigan for their support.2 He was buried at Sylvan Cemetery, Sylvan, Osceola Co., Michigan.2,3 He was born on April 6, 1936 at Big Rapids, Mecosta Co., Michigan.2 He married Yvonne Lorraine Warden on February 25, 1955 at Michigan.2,3,4 Jack Duane Schonert Sr. died on February 16, 2013 at Michigan at age 76.2

Inurnment of his ashes will be in Sylvan Township Cemetery, Evart, Mich. on January 5, 2004.3
