     Mae Eldrith Swinney was buried at Maxdale Cemetery, Maxdale, Bell Co., Texas.^2,1 She was born on March 12, 1864 at Liberty Co., Texas.¹ As of February 3, 1884,her married name was Riley.¹ She married Millard Filmore Riley on February 3, 1884 at Bell Co., Texas.¹ Mae Eldrith Swinney died on March 30, 1941 at Texas at age 77.¹ She The sad news of the death of Mrs. M. F. Riley was received Sunday. She passed away at the home of her son, A. W. Riley Sunday morning at 5 o'clock, March 30, 1941. Her death was a shock to those who were in the home with her, as she had retired about 10 o'clock feeling well as usual, but she had not been entirely well after having the flu in January. The cause of her death was her heart. She called to her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Carlile, who was spending the night with her. She told her she was sick, they all rushed to her side and did all loving hands could, do she passed away at 5 o'clock being sick a little over an hour. A doctor was called but she passed away before he could reach her. The body was carried to Killeen by the Chandor Young Ambulance and kept in the funeral home there. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in Killeen by Rev. H. B. Lloyd. The remains were carried to the Maxdale cemetery where she was laid to rest, a dear mother and devoted grandmother. All her children were there. Mrs. Mae E. Riley (nee Miss Mae Swinney) was born in Liberty County March 12, 1864. She was married in Bell County February 3, 1884 to M. F. Riley who passed away in March 1917. To this Union 8 children were born, two dying an infancy. Those living are as follows: W. W. Riley, Wichita Falls, Texas; Mrs. J. L. Story of Killeen; Mrs. J. C. Carlile of Bertram; P. J. Riley of Burnett; B. L. Riley of Goose Creek; A. W. Riley of Lake Victor. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. L. N. Sanford of Bourne, 6 brothers, John Swinney of Austin, A. W. Swinney and Neut Swinney of Fort Worth, C. M. Swinney of Lometa, Rans and Sid Swinney of Henrietta Oklahoma. One sister, Mrs. Addie Barber, passed away March 24, 1941 in Oklahoma. Pallbearers were two grandsons and four nephews; Bill Davenport, Clarence Brooks, Henry Lee, Doyle Riley and Henry Ashabranner. Flowergirls were granddaughters; Mrs. Bob Winnett, Mrs. Clarence Brooks, Anna Bird and Billie Dixon, Jo Ann and Parlee Story and Mrs. Emmett Clark. Deceased was a quiet unassuming Christian lady loved and honored by all who knew her. She won many friends wherever she went whose hearts have been made sad by her death, but has lived a life where she has a home for eternity. on April 17, 1941.¹

     Ethel Allene Story was buried at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, Fort Bend Co., Texas.^1,3 She Funeral services for Ethel Allene (Story) Clark, 87, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 4, at First United Methodist Church, 1122 4th Street, in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The Rev. Jim McConnell will officiate the services. Ethel was born Oct. 12, 1917 in Maxdale to Jasper and Amanda (Riley) Story. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World and she was a member of the Women's Bowling Association. She passed away March 31, 2005 in Sugar Land. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Clark; parents, Jasper and Amanda Story; sisters, Merle Brown, JoAnn Byrd, Sarah Sherman; brother, Marvin Story; and grandson-in-law, John Miller. She is survived by daughters, Joyce Frank of Rosenberg, Sue Schultz and husband, Kirby G., of Rosenberg; sister, Sue Lang of Temple; grandchildren, Kimberly Warwick and husband, Todd, of Katy, Deanna Miller of Richmond, and Steven Schultz of Rosenberg; great-grandchildren, Sarah Bockholt of Katy, Christopher Redding of Richmond, Cole Warwick of Katy, and Anna Miller of Richmond; along with numerous other loving family and many friends. Pallbearers will be Kirby G. Schultz, Steven Schultz, Todd Warwick, Marcus Jones, David Brown, and John Gonzales. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Redding.¹ Her married name was Clark.¹ She married Chester E. Clark was born on July 21, 1917. He died on November 14, 1984 at Richmond, Fort Bend Co., Texas, at age 67.³ He Funeral services for Chester E. Clark, 67, of Rosenberg, will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Dawson Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Rev. Don Meador will officiate. Clark, a member of First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg and Woodmen of the World, died Wednesday morning in Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Ethel A. Clark of Rosenberg; two daughters, Joyce C. Cramp and Sue Schultz, both of Rosenberg; his mother, Dona Thornton; and brother, Herman F. Clark of Magnolia; and three grandchildren. on November 15, 1984.³

     JoAnn Story was buried at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E, Rancier Avenue, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.^2,3 Her married name was Byrd.² She married Shirley W. "Bill" Byrd at Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.² JoAnn Story was born on June 12, 1921 at Iduma, Bell Co., Texas.^2,3 She died on March 27, 1999 at Austin, Travis Co., Texas, at age 77.^2,3 She JoAnn Story Byrd , age 77, of Austin, passed away Saturday, March 27, 1999. She was born June 12, 1921 in Iduma, Bell County, Texas to Jasper Lafayette Story & Sarah Amanda Riley. She married Shirley "Bill" W. Byrd, born April 10, 1910, died December 17, 1972 in Killeen, Bell County, Texas and was the son of Richard L. Byrd & Eliza Jane Quitt. She is survived by her daughter, Sherlene Byrd Heallen and husband, Kenneth of Austin; grandaughters, Tracy Heallen Brown and husband David of Austin, Texas, Lisa Heallen of Austin; sisters, Allene Story Clark of Rosenberg, Texas and Sue Story Brooks Lang and husband Norman of Temple. She was buried in City of Killeen Cemetery, along side her husband.

     Sarah Parolie Story was buried at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E, Rancier Avenue, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.^3,2 Her married name was Sherman.² She married Quintus Greely Sherman.² Sarah Parolie Story was born on August 31, 1925 at Lampasas, Lampasas Co., Texas.² She died on February 6, 1988 at El Paso, El Paso Co., Texas, at age 62.² She Funeral services for Sarah Story Sherman, 62, formerly of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen with Dr. Leonard Radde officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery. She died Saturday in El Paso. Mrs. Sherman was born on Aug. 31, 1925, in Lampasas. She was raised in Killeen and moved to El Paso in 1949. She worked as a bookkeeper for a retail sales company in El Paso. Mrs. Sherman was a member of the North Gate Baptist Church in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quintus Sherman, in 1985. Survivors include four sisters, Merle Brown of Georgetown, Ailene Clark of Rosenberg, Sue Brooks of Temple and Jo Ann Byrd of Austin. on February 9, 1988.²

     Susan Maxine "Sue" Story Sue Brooks Lang, 92, died, Jan. 19 , 2012 in Georgetown. She was born Aug. 24, 1919 to Jasper and Amanda Riley Story in Killeen. Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2:00 p.m., Killeen Cemetery. Mrs. Lang was formally from Killeen and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Temple. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Brooks; second husband, Norman Lang. Mrs. Lang is survived by three nieces; Carolyn Daniell, Georgetown; Sherlene Heallen, Huddo; Joyce Frank, Richmond: one nephew, Norman Brown, Florence.² She was buried at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E, Rancier Avenue, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.^2,3 Her married name was Lang.² Her married name was Brooks.² She married Norman Sampson Lang.^2,4 Susan Maxine "Sue" Story married Clarence Aubra Brooks.^2,3 Susan Maxine "Sue" Story was born on August 24, 1919 at Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.^2,3 She died on January 19, 2012 at Georgetown, Williamson Co., Texas, at age 92.²

     Clarence Aubra Brooks was buried at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E, Rancier Avenue, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.^2,3 He married Susan Maxine "Sue" Story, daughter of Jasper Layfette Story and Sarah Amanda Riley.^1,2 Clarence Aubra Brooks was born on January 23, 1896 at Bardwell, Ellis Co., Texas.^2,3 He died on June 25, 1986 at Temple, Bell Co., Texas, at age 90.^2,3 He Funeral services for Clarence A. Brooks, 90, of Temple, will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Clements Chapel in the First United Methodist Church of Killeen with the Rev. Leonard Radde officiating. Brooks died Wednesday at a Temple hospital. Burial will be in the Killeen City Cemetery. He was born Jan. 23, 1896, in Bardwell, and had lived in the Killeen area most of his life. He graduated from Midlothian High School and attended business school in Dallas. Brooks served in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He had been a postal clerk in the Killeen post office and had farmed west of Killeen for 20 years before he retired. He was a member of the Methodist Church all his life and a member of the First United methodist Church in Killeen since 1919. Brooks was also a member of American Legion Post 223 in Killeen and a charter member of the Killeen chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Brooks of Temple, and a sister, Mrs. Trudy Knuth of San Antonio. on June 26, 1986.³

     Shirley W. "Bill" Byrd was buried at Killeen City Cemetery, 2800 E, Rancier Avenue, Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.² He married JoAnn Story, daughter of Jasper Layfette Story and Sarah Amanda Riley, at Killeen, Bell Co., Texas.¹ Shirley W. "Bill" Byrd was born on April 10, 1910.^1,2 He died on December 17, 1972 at Killeen, Bell Co., Texas, at age 62.^1,2
