Nichols, 52, of near Lincoln, who died July 30 at her home after a long Illness. Mrs. Nichols, a nurses aide at the Lewes Convalescent Center, was presented a citation in 1964 by the Delaware Safety Council for pushing several children out of the way of an oncoming car while serving as a school crossing guard near her former home in Collins Park. She was brushed by the car which she realized wouldn't be able to stop in time. She is survived by her husband, Nelson W. Nichols Sr; four sons, Roger Breeding of North Carolina, Nelson W. Jr. of Greenwood, and William L. and Robert L., both of New Castle; four daughters, Alma Seward of Smyrna, Margaret Rhoat of Florida, Virginia DeVincentis of Greenwood and Midred Miller ot Lincoln; Her mother, Margaret Riccio of Wilmington; a brother, Collins C. Shaw of New Jersey; and 20 grandchildren. Interment was in St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. on August 7, 1975.1

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Linda Knight Wilson, Ph.D. and her husband, Stephen (COL USA Ret.), of Williamsburg, Virginia; her daughter Doris Knight Jusay of Roanoke, Virginia; her daughter Deborah Knight Kirby and her husband, Jerry, of Blue Ridge, Virginia; five grandchildren, Paul Jusay, Phillip Jusay (Leah); Kenneth Kirby (Carolina); Kristal Kirby; and Joshua Knight (Chelsea); and eight great-grandchildren. During her lifetime, Dorothy was a devout Christian, who served her community through her church activities and charitable contributions to numerous organizations. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, friend and neighbor to all who knew her. She held membership in the Methodist Women; United Daughters of the Confederacy; and most recently in the Peaks of Otter Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. A family graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park, in Salem, where Dorothy will be buried alongside her husband, Pat, and her son, Robert. on February 8, 2021.

He was born in Boyce, August 18, 1920, to Floyd Y. Knight Sr. and Ethel Florine Rodgers. Pat graduated Elkton High School in Elkton, and began his career of over 50 years as a conductor on the Norfolk & Western Railroad. During World War II, he was an Infantryman with the United States Army's 26th (Yankee) Infantry Division. Pat was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a founding member of the Old Stag Hunt Club in Millsboro Springs. He was also a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Salem for over 60 years. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Carl and Walter; and his son, Robert E. Knight. Pat is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Collins Knight of Salem; his daughter, Linda Knight Wilson, Ph.D. and son-in-law, Stephen, of Mathews, Va; his daughter, Doris Knight Jusay of Roanoke; his daughter, Deborah Knight Kirby and son-in-law, Jerry, of Blue Ridge; five grandchildren, Paul, Phillip and wife, Kimberly, Kenneth and wife, Carolina, Kristal, and Joshua; and five great-grandchildren. Following the service, Pat will be interned alongside his son, Robert, in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, where graveside Military Honors will be afforded by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team. on May 24, 2015.2
