Cora was born on January 17, 1961 to the late Charles Phillip (Phil) Thompson and Gwendolyn Irene (Gwen) Thompson of McComas, W.Va. She was a 1979 graduate of Montcalm High School. Yvette grew up in a family that has a strong love of music. Yvette loved to sing and spent many hours together with her family singing and making music. Yvette also loved singing in her church choir when she attended Deliverance Temple Church in Brushfork, W.Va. Yvette was a hard worker and always kept a beautiful home for her family. She loved her home, and had great pride in it decorating the lawn with a menagerie of flowers, and kept the inside immaculate. Yvette is survived by her four children: Adam Wall of Montcalm, April Wall of Duhring, Cody Gilliand, and Derek Gilliand of the home. She has three grandchildren; Hayley Scaggs, Kelly Scaggs, and Kenneth Scaggs. Yvette is also survived by brothers: Matt Thompson and wife Gwen (Melva) of McComas, W.Va. and Kevin (Hank) Thompson and wife LeeArin of Eure, N.C. She is also survived by one sister: Beth Eden and husband Mike of Bluefield, Va. Yvette has five nieces: Audra Nicole of Clarksburg, W.Va; Kalla Thompson of McComas, W.Va; Ashley and Sarah Eden of Bluefield, Virginia; and Taylor Thompson of Eure, N.C. She also has three nephews: Wade Thompson and wife Heather of McComas,W.Va., Matthew Thompson Jr. of McComas, W.Va. and Trevor Thompson of Eure, N.C. Yvette also has one surviving aunt: Connie Bailey and husband Junior of Princeton, W.Va. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Fellowship Baptist Church when she was in better health. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Lee Davis, Everett Cletis Davis and John “Butch” Davis; two sisters, Vernie Brock and Cora “Dood” Larue and one grandson, Brian Wimmer. Nothing in this world meant more to him than his wife, children and grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory: His wife of 26 years: Angela "Buttons" Browning Davis of the home. In 1997 she was recognized in the “Who’s Who of Nursing.” She was a devout Christian and was a member of Beartown Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed her flower garden and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Brenda Davis; and brother, Terry Davis. Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Dennis Bailey; sons, Dennis R. Bailey and wife Lindsey of Pipestem and Scott D.
