He was dead on arrival at Milford Memorial Hospital after the accident, which occurred about 4:30 p.m., police said. The truck was driven by Bruce L. Pfeiffer, 36, of near Milton, police said. Mr. Nichols worked in the cannery's maintenance department for 16 years. Before that, he worked at Doeskin Paper Products Co. in New Castle for 27 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Nichols of Seaford; four daughters, Alma Seward of Smyrna, Margaret and Mildred Rhoat, both of Breezewood, Pa., and Virginia Eskridge of Seaford; a sister, Lena Collins of Hacks Point, Md; 36 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a companion, Joan Mitchell, with whom he lived. Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood. on July 10, 1987.⁵

Bobby was born on March 4, 1932 in Chester Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late James Leonard Turner Jr. and Dorothy Helen (McFarland) Turner. Bobby moved to Cecil County in 1937, with his family to pursue farming. He attended Clayton Elementary school and graduated in 1950 from the Cecilton High School in Cecilton Md. In addition to his passion for farming and running the family produce market (Cecilton Md) he worked at Amaco Chemicals in Delaware City. He retired from Stine Haskell labs in 1993 after 18 years with DuPont Company. After retirement he continued to farm with son Teddy and operate the family produce market for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending tractor pulls especially those that his grandsons participated in, farming and his dog, Julie. He will be sadly missed by his sons Jeffrey T. Turner Sr., (Laurie) of Millington MD, and Rennie Turner (Deborah) of Salisbury MD and his seven grandchildren Jeffrey Turner Jr. (Whitney), Shelley Daniels (Dave), Candice Wagner (Eddi), Holly Kennedy (Brooks), Robert Turner III, Ayla Rose Turner, and Torrie Turner and seven great grandchildren. His sisters, Dorothy Cheyney of Cecilton, Md and Jane Daniels (Rodney) of Middletown, DE. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years Theresa A. (O’neal) Turner, his son Robert Theodore (Teddy) Turner Jr. his parents James L. Turner Jr. , and Dorothy H. Turner, and his sister Norma Moore. Interment will be in Galena Cemetery. on December 9, 2014.²
