     Kenneth Russell Wells Mr. Kenneth R. Wells, 87, of Brazil, passed away June 19, 2014 at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. He was born December 26, 1926 in Rockville, IN, the son of Alonzo and Thelma Loy Wells. He graduated from Fontanet High School, Class of 1945. Kenny served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater and was Honorably Discharged in 1947. Kenny worked at the Putnamville Correctional Facility and held the position of Captain as a supervisor, retiring in the early 1990's. He also worked as a semi-truck driver as a younger man. Kenny was a member of the American Legion Post #2 . He enjoyed gardening, cutting the grass and being ‘Papaw'. On October 19, 1978 Kenny was united in marriage to Ethel Squires Heck. Together they have attended the Ebenezer Church and have been devoted parents and grandparents to their family. Surviving family include step-children, Diana and Bob Lancaster of Brazil, Beverly Heck, Darla Heck Sacopulos and husband Michael all of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Tod Haring, Tifani Baker (Jon), Hana Brosner (Brad), Reanna Winkle (David), Rusty Heck, Andrea Wiley, Nicholas Sacopulos and Alexander Sacopulos; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Margaret Wells of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Ron Heck and grandson, Nathan Haring.      Forest Marshell Shonkwiler Forest M. Shonkwiler, 89, of South Bend passed away Monday January 5th in his residence with his family by his side after an extended illness. He was born on July 23, 1925 in Lena, IN to the late Estel and Mary (Hood) Shonkwiler. On January 9, 1949 in Lena, IN he married the former Mary C. Squires who survives. Forest and his wife have resided in the Michiana area since 1964 coming from Crawfordsville, IN. He retired from C.C. Kelly & Son after many years of service as a Sales Rep. Forest is survived by his loving wife Mary of 66 years, one daughter, Sue E. Torbert of South Bend; two sons, Gary L. (Janet) Shonkwiler of Brazil, IN and Steve J. (Kristi) Shonkwiler of South Bend; four sisters, Clema (Bill) Perkins of Roachdale, IN, Joan Alcorn of Bainbridge, IN, Loisdene (Bill) Reeves of Greencastle, IN and Roberta Scaggs of Greencastle, IN; one brother, Malcolm C. Shonkwiler of Greenwood, IN; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert D. Shonkwiler on May 17, 2003. He was a US Navy Veteran, having served in WW II and was a member of the American Legion Post 0357 in Indianapolis, IN and the Masonic Lodge 469 in Bainbridge, IN.
