     Walter William Slifer Walter W. "Bill" Slifer, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast, Fla. He was 85 years old and was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Danville, Ill. He resided in Danville, Ill., for 64 years and then moved to Bunnell, Fla., in 1984. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bunnell, Fla. Bill loved to travel and was able to explore all but one of the 50 United States. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Lou (Briggs) Slifer of Bunnell; daughter, Jean Slifer of Hoffman Estates, Ill; son, William "Ran" (Penny) Slifer of Clermont, Fla; three grandchildren, David (Hillary) Fairfax, Va., Michelle, Clermont, Fla., and Sara (Dylan) Nichols, Clermont, Fla; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Caitlin and Kaley. He is also survived by a sister, Iva Slifer Woodrum of Danville, Ill; and a close family friend, Nancy Bryers of Hoffman Estates, Ill. He and his wife sponsored a Vietnamese family who came to the United States in 1979. Giau and Tuyet Ly and their children Linda (Andre) Fregeau, Holly (Tuan) Nguyen, Jean (Daniel) Mudgett and Tony, and their children Hope, Jordan, Carter, Sebastian and Emma Rose. Mullins on December 11, 1955 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.1,5,2,4 Muriel Lynn Jordan died on July 12, 2018 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois, at age 81.1 She Muriel Lynn (Jordan) Mullins, 81, of Danville, Ill., entered our father's house at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Colonial Manor. Muriel was born in Peoria, Ill., on November 5, 1936. She was the daughter of Marion A. Jordan and Ardith I. (Ramsey) Jordan. She grew up in rural Williamsport, Ind., before moving to Danville, Ill., where she has resided since 1954. Muriel married Homer M. Mullins on December 11, 1955, in Danville. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2011. She was a 1954 West Lebanon High School graduate and later attended Laboratory School at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She was a bacteriologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital and then later at USMC hospital, also in Danville, until her retirement in 1993. Muriel was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Danville. She was a past president of the Oakwood Township High School Booster Club, where she once made handmade wrestling uniforms. She enjoyed cake decorating, creating several wedding cakes, as well as sewing, making several wedding gowns. She also enjoyed bowling, needlepoint, reupholstering furniture and traveling with her husband. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are children, Lynne Ellis (Dwight) of Danville, Lisa Cline (Jay) of Danville, and Mark Mullins (Karen) of Chrisman; siblings, William B. Jordan (Marian) of rural Williamsport, and Sharon A. Butler (late Gene) of West Lebanon, Ind; grandchildren, Kyle and Keely Ellis; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaelyn Miller and Pyper Hayes; and her beloved cat, Jimmy Fuzzy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Homer. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. on July 13, 2018.1

     Homer M. Mullins was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 North Vermilion Street, Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.2 He was born on February 25, 1931 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.2 He married Muriel Lynn Jordan, daughter of Marion Augustus Jordan and Ardith Irene Ramsey, on December 11, 1955 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.1,2,3,4 Homer M. Mullins died on October 21, 2011 at Urbana, Champaign Co., Illinois, at age 80.1,2 He Homer M. Mullins, age 80, of Danville died at 9:01 p.m. CDT Friday (Oct. 21, 2011) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born in Danville on Feb. 25, 1931 to Grover C. and Jessie Mae Pollitt Mullins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Armada LeClaire and Jessie "Irene" Mullins and brothers, Caleb, Grover, Lawrence and Otis Mullins. He married Muriel Jordan in Danville on Dec. 11, 1955. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Lynne Ellis (husband: Dwight) and Lisa Cline (husband: Jay), both of Danville, and Mark Mullins (wife: Karen) of Chrisman; his brothers, Gordon A. Mullins of Danville and Darrell Mullins (wife: Virginia) of Gladstone, Michigan; two grandchildren, Kyle Ellis and Keely Ellis, both of Danville and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaelyn Miller. He served in the Armed Forces during the Korean War. He retired from Flexel in Covington after working there for 36 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and going to the beach at St. Petersburg, Florida. He loved animals and his family and was very family-oriented. on October 23, 2011.2
