     Dr. James Edward “Jim” Moon Jr. was born on July 5, 1934 at Lynchburg, Virginia.^2,3,5 He married Delores Maxine Clark, daughter of Charlie Wiley Clark Sr. and Mamye Pearl "Mamie" Hodges, on October 29, 1954 at Lynchburg, Virginia.^1,2,3 Dr. James Edward “Jim” Moon Jr. died on June 9, 2014 at Lynchburg, Virginia, at age 79.^3,4 He Dr. James Edward "Sonny" Moon, 79, of Lynchburg, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, June 9, 2014, at his residence. He was the loving and devoted husband of Delores Clark Moon for 59 years. Born July 5, 1934, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Edward Moon Sr. and Dorothy Barksdale Moon. Jim was a retired Minister and was Co-Pastor, Emeritus of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where he was still a member. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a son, Richard Scott Moon; a daughter, Cathy M. Powell and husband, George, both of Lynchburg; a brother, Robert Moon and wife, Ann, of Rustburg; four grandchildren, Heather Pratt, Morgan Moon, Katie Moon, and Christopher Cordle; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Robin Moon. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. on June 11, 2014.³

     Richard Scott Moon Richard Scott Moon, 61, of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his residence. Born August 2, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Delores Clark Moon of Forest and the late Dr. James E. Moon. Richard was baptized at an early age and was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. Richard graduated from Brookville High school and attended CVCC. He was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and loved to travel. He worked 15 years for BWXT and Delta Star. He loved to play the piano and had serves as minister of music at Tree of Life and for a number of years, he volunteered at the Adult Care Center, PACE and various other places in Lynchburg playing music. In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his fiancée and devoted caregiver, Deborah Dodson of Forest; two daughters, Heather Moon Pratt and her husband Jason of Floyd and Katie Moon Guthman and her husband James of Floyd; one son, Morgan Scott Moon of Lynchburg; one sister, Catherine June Powell of Forest; three grandchildren, Cassidy Pratt, Harmony Pratt and Kyndal Pratt all of Floyd; a special cousin/friend, Donnie Clark and a number of other relatives and friends.      Phyllis Delores Thornsburg Phyllis Dolores Hodges, 78, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Marvin P. Hodges. Born on April 28, 1937 in North Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Woodrow Thornsbury and Ruth Nadine Morgan Thornsbury. Dolores was a RN and Operating Room Supervisor with Virginia Baptist Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and painting. She was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Hodges; brother, Coley "Lou" Thornsbury; and brother-in-law, Jack Elliott. In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by three grandchildren, Michael Hodges, Steven Hodges, and Christy Hodges; sister, Thanna Elliott; brother, Walter Thornsbury and wife Helen; sister-in-law, Brenda Thornsbury; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.¹ She was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, 3000 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia.¹ She was born on April 28, 1937 at North Spring, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.¹ As of September, 1959,her married name was Hodges.² She married Marvin Percy Hodges, son of Percy Greenwood Hodges and Mary Louise Clark, in September, 1959 at Sumter Co., South Carolina.^1,2 Phyllis Delores Thornsburg died on March 11, 2016 at Lynchburg, Virginia, at age 78.¹

     Timothy Wayne Hodges Timothy Wayne Hodges, 51, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Thursday, November 22, 2012. He was the husband of Karen Foster Hodges. Tim was born in Lynchburg on January 23, 1961, the son of Marvin P. Hodges and Delores Hodges. In addition to his wife and parents, Tim is survived by one daughter, Christi Hodges of NY; two sons, Steven Hodges and Michael Hodges both of Lynchburg; one step-daughter, Julie Renea Ridgeway of Lynchburg; three step-sons, Jamie Lee Ridgeway and wife, Laurie and Jeremy Rea Ridgeway both of Lynchburg and John Thomas Ridgeway of Hawaii; and three grandchildren, Jaydon Thomas Ridgeway, Brandon Charles Ridgeway and Brooklin Diane Ridgeway all of Lynchburg and his former wife, Lori Pecham Hodges of Lynchburg. Tim was an employee of Terry Volkswagen in Lynchburg for over ten years. He loved his work and it was a big part of his life. Tim called all of his coworkers friends. He adored his children and especially doted on his grandchildren. "Papa Tim" loved cooking with his wife, Karen for all the kids and grandchildren. They gathered frequently for Sunday dinners. Tim was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed.
