Mrs. Boyd was born in Danville, Va., on March 8, 1931, daughter of the late Ernest L. Bennett and Lucille Yates Bennett. She spent all of her life in the Ringgold Community where she was a graduate of Dan River High School and then went on to work for Bank of America until her retirement. She was a member of Ringgold Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Joy Club and other church activities as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed working in her yard and was a very accomplished seamstress. On August 26, 1950, she married Calvin Thomas Boyd Sr. who died on August 11, 2007. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Frances Evans; brother, William "Bill" Bennett; and granddaughter, Misty Adkins. Survivors include her children, Dianne B. He was born in Danville, on October 10, 1945, a son of the late John Thomas Adkins and Maggie Hall Adkins. On September 28, 1974, he married the former Toni Boyd who survives.
