She was born in Johnston County but was a Durham resident most of her life. She had lived in Raleigh for the past 13 years. She was a member of Living Waters Pentecostal Holiness Curch. Surviving are her husband, Ernest Goodwin of Raleigh; her mother, Mrs. Letha Phillips Little of Durham; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn H. Bullock of Raleigh and Mrs. Patricia H. Rinaldi of Durham; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda G. Hoadley of Zebukm and Mrs. Janet G. Lloyd of Wake Forest; a son, Bill E. Hackney of Raleigh; three stepsons, Tommy Goodwin of Wendell, Herman Goodwin of Apex, and James Goodwin of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Novaline Bassett of Greenville, S.C; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren. on January 16, 1990.2

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Martin of Louisburg; children, Tommy Goodwin, Sr. (Lois) of Wendell, Miles Goodwin (Nelle) of Garner, Linda Roberson of Raleigh, Janet Loyd (Phillip) of Youngsville; brother, Bobby Harward of Durham; grandchildren, Tommy Goodwin, Jr., Brandon Goodwin, Ami Moon, Lara Nosal, Courtney Costantino, Susan Nosal, Charley Loyd, Landon Loyd; and nine great grandchildren.
