Palmer, 67, C.&O. Railway employee, of Bellepoint, died Wednesday morning in Hinton Hospital. He had been in ill health for the last 10 months and had not been able to work for the last seven months. He suffered a heart attack about 10 days ago and was removed to the hospital where his condition had been considered critical since that time. Mr. Palmer was born in Mercer county, Sept. 7, 1884 and had lived in Princeton most of his life, but for the last 10 years had resided at Bellepoint. He was employed by the railway company as an inspector. He was a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He was a member of the Methodist church at Princeton. Besides his widow, the former Vergie Elmore of Princeton, he is survived by five sons and three daughters who are as follows: Herbert, Guy and Lee of Princeton, Homer who is serving in the army in Korea and Ralph with the merchant marines; Mrs. C. D. Via, Norfolk, Va; Mrs. G. E. Marshall, Bluefield; Mrs. G. L. Tyree, Hinton, and 13 grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Jack Palmer, of Princeton; Leonard T. Palmer of Fairmont, and four sisters, Mrs. G. A. Elmore of Princeton, Mrs. G. E. Biggs of Oakvale, Mrs. W. D. Hurley of McComas and Mrs. C. L. Crews of Bluefield. on March 13, 1952.⁵
