Mrs. Smith was a graduated of Phillips Business College and was a long time member of the Garden Club. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Daniel Smith and her sister, Emeline Feagan. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Greg Smith (Angie) of Forest; five grandchildren, Aaron Steers Smith, Elizabeth Steers Smith, Callan Steers Smith, Simeon Steers Smith and Jeremy Goodman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow at the Arthur family cemetery in Lynchburg. on September 19, 2013.³

He was the grandson of the late Annie Locke Arthur and is survived by his aunt, Emeline Arthur Feagan. Danny served his country in the United States Navy and was a stone mason who loved the land, working across the country. His work is seen throughout Greene and Albemarle County, including some of the stone walls along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive. on March 13, 2007.⁶ He died on May 7, 2007 at Free Union, Greene Co., Virginia, at age 59.^1,2,4,9,5,6

Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery. Bobbie was born November 16, 1943, in Lynchburg, Va. She was a daughter of the late, George and Janie Ayers of Madison Heights, Va. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Denise Sullivan and husband, Brian, H. A. Cox and wife, Marlene, Haywood Cox, Howard Cox and wife, Karen, and Hoyt Cox; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Esther Cash and husband, Bill, and Sharon Bartells and husband, Paul; and brother, Lloyd Ayers and wife, Betsy. on September 1, 2016.³

He was born in Boston, Mass., Jan. 18, 1921, to Thomas J. and Eleanor E. Meeks. He grew up the son of two ministers in the Salvation Army Ministry. He is survived by his daughter, Donna L. Meeks; granddaughter, Christine Lena Kennon and grandson, Joshua Robert Kennon. Also, he is survived by his brother, Roy E. Meeks; and sisters, Frances Ragan, Ruth F. Wieting and Violet Bradford. Mr. Meeks married the late, Christine Hundley Smith in 1942 and had one daughter, Donna Leigh. Mr. Meeks was a World War II veteran in the Naval branch of service to his country. He lived in Virginia Beach most of his life. He was a recent resident of South Boston, Va., in the area where his daughter and grandchildren reside. Mr. Meeks was an apprentice/machinist in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. After retirement he was self employed and enjoyed woodworking both as a living and a hobby. The family would like to encourage all who read this that we were not made for time but for eternity as we celebrate his homecoming today. Memorial services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk chapel, followed by graveside service to celebrate his entrance to heaven. on November 18, 2005.²
