     Joyce Lynette Abshire was buried at Abshire Cemetery, Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.² She was born on July 1, 1955 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,2,4 As of December 15, 1997,her married name was Jones.¹ She married Raymond David Jones, son of Juniouss Raymond Jones Jr. and Cathy Marie Poff, on December 15, 1997 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4 Joyce Lynette Abshire died on September 27, 2017 at Virginia at age 62.^2,4 She Joyce Abshire Jones, of Roanoke, born July 1, 1955 to Elbert and Eileen Abshire, peacefully passed Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Joyce was predeceased in life by her parents and brother, Robert Abshire. Joyce is survived by her husband, Raymond Jones; children, Christina and Hunter (Keesha) Burgess; grandchildren, Brendan Bower, Jaida Soyars, Daniel and Elaina Burgess; great grandson, Bear Bower; sisters, Rose (Jerry) Davis and Pat (Sam) Bailey; brother, Terry Abshire; brother and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Joyce's love for her family was truly that of a mother's love; her self-sacrifice and devotion to her family knew no limits. There was never a time that she did not think of others first; lending a helping hand to all. Joyce was an adoring matriarch, who always ensured to put her family in the forefront of life, never passing on a chance to create everlasting memories and instill family heritage to the upcoming generations. She emitted a love for all living creatures, devoting herself to her furry family and her beloved horses. Joyce was a true advocate for animals; donating her time and resources to local organizations such as Healing Strides Therapeutic Riding Center. Joyce's passion and dedication led to over 44 years with the Kroger company; where she held positions as a Floral Clerk, Store Leader and Floral Merchandiser. Her passion for floral transcended those around her; leaving her mark for all to see. Her joy and laughter will forever fill the hearts of those that had the pleasure of spending time with her. on October 7, 2017.⁴

     Lowell Irvin Rector was buried at County Line Church of God Cemetery, 2900 County Line Road, Sanville, Henry Co., Virginia.^3,4 He Lowell Irvin Rector, 60, of Martinsville, Va., died on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Martinsville. He was born on June 24, 1948, in Galax, Va., to the late Irvin Walton Rector and late Guida May Padgett Rector. He attended Fieldale Outreach Ministries and was a lifetime member of Horsepastrue Rescue Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Dean Cozart. Surviving are three daughters, Shannon Lynn Simmons, of Bassett, Amy Gladden, of Hardy, and Julie Marie Rector, of Hardy; one son, Robert Travis Rector, of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Chase Overstreet and Austin Simmons; one sister, Carol Witt, of Bassett; and numerous cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.      James Robert “Pyro” Leech James Robert “Pyro” Leech, 42, of Elliston, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2017. He was employed by East Coast Metal Distributors. James served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his neighbors as a member of the Elliston Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years and at Hubert NC fire department prior to that. He was preceded in death by his father, William “Wayne” Leech; and sister-in-law, Heather Leech. James is survived by his wife, Christie Taylor Leech; daughter, Sydney Morgan Rector; mother, Sarah J. Leech; sisters, Sara “Jackie” Carneal, Sandra Jones (Ronnie); brother, William Wayne Leech, Jr; nephews, Alijah Everson (Ruriko), Christopher Jones (Crystal), Matthew Jones, Joey Leech (Hillary), Josh Leech; niece, Maddie Carneal; as well as several great-nephews and great-nieces. A Graveside Service with military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.⁵ He was buried at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia.^5,6 He was born on August 17, 1974 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,6 He married Crystal Taylor on February 14, 2002 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,5 James Robert “Pyro” Leech died on May 6, 2017 at Virginia at age 42.^5,6

He was predeceased by bis grandparents, Bernard Lee Lane and Mr. and Mrs. William Walter Carneal. He was a beloved husband to Sara Jacqueline Carneal; beloved dad to Sara Madeline Mae Carneal "Maddie"; beloved stepfather to Staff Sergeant Ronald "Alijah" Everson; son, William Bernard Carneal III; and daughter-in-law, Ruriko Everson; beloved grandpa to Corey and NHue Everson; beloved grandmother, Nina Mae Lane "Nanny"; five beloved sisters, Judy, Janet, Jamie, Joyce and Julie; father, William Bernard Carneal Sr; mother, Joyce Ellis; and many other family members and friends. Bobby was born and raised in Ashland by his grandparents, Nina and Bernard Lane. He worked for H H Hunt Homes for the past 12 years, where he was a lead framer. A native of Roanoke, he was a lifetime area resident and was formerly employed by Thermoking for over 10 years.
