He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Dec. 9, 1945, a son of the late Lewis and Mariam Yergey Griffith. He served in the United States Navy for 23 years of active duty service and for seven years in the Naval Reserve from 1964 to 1994. He retired from the service as senior chief petty officer as a computer programmer and systems software programmer. He was also employed at Honeywell Corporation as a computer programmer. Mr. Griffith was a member of the Coshocton Moose Lodge 935, and enjoyed golfing and bowling. On Dec. 9, 1972, he married Wanda Stump Griffith, who preceded him in death on March 15, 1995. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (William Jr.) Huffman, and Melissa (Jeff) Greenwalt, both of Coshocton; seven grandchildren, Shawn and Austin Medley, Gavin, Hannah, and Cole Greenwalt, and Alex and Zac Huffman; one brother, Ray Griffith of Maryland; and three sisters, Donna Griffith of Maryland, Nancy Kadtke of Delaware, and Terri Griffith of Michigan. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald. Graveside Services will be held in South Lawn Cemetery. on August 17, 2008.3
