He was born in Logan County, West Virginia on February 8, 1949 and was the son of the late Cleophus Gaston Steele, Sr. and Bertha Mae Doss Steele. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Sarita Steele; two nephews, Michael Morris and Nicholas Tyler Christian; and two brothers-in-law, Pete Wilburn and Charles Christian. He was a former employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with over 20 years service. He was also an avid Washington Redskins and NASCAR fan. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sabrina Wheeling of Christiansburg; a son, Michael Steele of Blacksburg: six grandchildren, Mattie Wheeling, Sierra Bragg, Michaela Steele, Landon Steele, Ryan Williams and Katie Williams; a brother, Johnny Steele of Rich Creek; five sisters, Beverly Sapp and husband Jimmy of Sophia, West Virginia, Linda Spangler of Pembroke, Betty Wilburn of Narrows, Carol Morris and Sherry Christian, both of Pearisburg; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Stevie Orange and husband Bruce of Christiansburg. on October 4, 2009.³

     Susan Kay Kiner Susan K. Likens, 62, of Grove City made the glorious passing to her new life on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Kobacker House. She was surrounded by the love of her adoring family and friends. She was a caring and giving person who loved spending time with her family. As a member of the Good Shepherd Community Church Susan enjoyed reaching out to others. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Likens, and parents Ralph and Gladys Kiner. She is survived by daughters, Diane Likens and Lori (Rich) Hertenstein; brother, Jim (Rita) Kiner; sister, Patty Revoir; grandchildren, Zack, Amber, Samantha, Allison and Sophia; and many nieces and nephews.¹ She was born on August 9, 1949.¹ As of circa 1968,her married name was Likens.³ She married James Lewis Likens, son of Herman Samuel Likens and Myrma June Spangler, circa 1968.^1,3 Susan Kay Kiner died on November 5, 2011 at Grove City, Franklin Co., Ohio, at age 62.¹
