     William Anthony Garst William Anthony "Tony" Garst, Sr., 65, of Roanoke County went to be with his family and the Lord in his heavenly home on Sunday, July 22, 2023. Tony was born on October 7, 1957 in Roanoke, Virginia to his late parents, JR Garst and Jean Newbury Garst. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Garst and his brothers, Chip Garst and Mike Camden. Tony worked for Asplundh Tree Company for many years and retired as a foreman. He took strong pride in his work and loved his employees and coworkers whole-heartedly. Tony enjoyed going to Ohio to hunt world records with Ron and Karen at Xtreme World Class Whitetails of Ohio. He also enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR. Spending time with family was very important to Tony, he loved eating home cooked meals and playing outside with the babies in the family. And last, but not least…."How about them Cowboys!" Tony was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. Tony is survived by his son, Anthony Garst; grandson, Archie Liam Garst; his sisters, Cathy "Cat" Camden and Connie Garst; half-brother, Brian Stump; his aunt, Pam Hill; his nieces and nephews, Jeannie, Jamey, Corey, Lauren "Sissy", Michael, Whitney, Brittany "Pooterbutt", Luther, Camryn, Carrington, Jennifer, Bradyn, Natalie, Kenzie, Thomas, Spencer, Ella, and Nala. The family would like to thank Nurse Debra Shelton and Amedisys Hospice, and Caitlin & Brandon Caldwell for the care and kindness they provided to Tony.⁴ He was born on October 7, 1957 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2,3,4 He married Lisa Gail Doyle, daughter of Col. John Wilson Doyle and Doris Jean Alderman, on April 6, 1985 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ William Anthony Garst and Lisa Gail Doyle were divorced on June 17, 1991 at Roanoke, Virginia.² William Anthony Garst died on July 22, 2023 at Virginia at age 65.⁴

     Sherry Anne Alderman Sherry Anne Alderman, Dec 5, 1961 - Oct 3, 2025. Sherry Anne Alderman, 63 of Pilot passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton Deloyd and Goldie Kathleen Alderman. Sherry is survived by her daughters, Krista Gregg Tillis and partner Dominic Sotile and Felicia and Christopher Bibb; grandchildren, Abbie, Christian, and Riley Bibb; sisters, Sarah and husband Dave Gottleib, Kimberly and husband Bobby Justice, and Stephanie and husband Phillip Marshall; brother, Douglas “Buck” and wife Lena Alderman; nieces and nephews, Henry and wife Barbara Walker, Dillon Justice, Rusty Marshall, Katelyn and husband Zach Stump, Amanda and husband Nate Macey; great nephews, Christopher Walker and Jonathan Harris; grandpups, Har Har, Goku, and Max; Lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Clay and Karen Blevins, Kyle and Cherie Blevins; the Joco Mart family and friends. Sherry was a very outgoing and loving free spirit. She loved the evenings and weekends with family. She loved being outdoors kayaking and tending to her flowers. She worked at Joco Mart for 18 years and loved all of her customers and coworkers. She never met a stranger. Her beautiful smile and caring personality made everyone around her feel special. Interment will follow in Huffville Church Cemetery, Pilot.⁵ She was buried at Huffville Union Church Cemetery, 1078 Huffville Road, NE, Terrys Fork, Floyd Co., Virginia.⁵ She was born on December 5, 1961 at Roanoke, Virginia.^4,5 As of January 14, 1983,her married name was Gregg.² She married John Darroll Gregg on January 14, 1983 at Pilot, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Sherry Anne Alderman and John Darroll Gregg were divorced on June 19, 2007 at Floyd Co., Virginia.³ Sherry Anne Alderman died on October 3, 2025 at Virginia at age 63.⁵

     Carl Edward Songer was buried at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, Virginia.^2,4 His Social Security Number was 229-55-1166.⁵ He was born on November 28, 1986 at Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.^2,4,5 He died on October 31, 2008 at Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 21.^2,3,4,5 He Carl Edward Songer, 21, of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina Naval Hospital on November 28, 1986 to Carl (Binky) L. Songer and Angela Linkous Songer. Carl graduated from Blacksburg High School and attended New River Community College for two years. In addition to parents, Carl is survived by his loving grandparents, Francis and Everett Hill, Christine and Junior Linkous, Edward and Claudia Mullins great Harless Sylvia Katrina and Linkous; aunt, Swaine; special cousin, Yasmine Hoston; uncle, Wesley and Amanda Linkous; cousin, Hayden Linkous, all residing in the New River Valley. A graveside service will be conducted in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. on November 3, 2008.²

     Larry Douglas Edwards was buried at Huffville Union Church Cemetery, 1078 Huffville Road, NE, Terrys Fork, Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,4,3 He was born on July 13, 1972 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2,4 He died on November 8, 1972 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,4 He Larry Douglas Edwards, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Douglas Edwards of Rt. 4, Christiansburg, died Wednesday at his home. Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon J. Alderman, Pilot, Mrs. Roxie G. Edwards, Salem. A graveside service will be at Huffville Church Cemetery, Floyd County. on November 9, 1972.³

     Nancy Ellen Kinder Nancy Ellen Kinder Keith, 54, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, William Britt Kinder; and step-son, Mike Keith. Nancy is survived by her companion of 13 years, Richard Keith; her mother, Shirley Kinder, both of Christiansburg; brothers, Robert J. Kinder and wife, Carol, of Flordia, William B. Kinder, Jr. and wife, Ann, of Riner; sisters, Cathren M. Kinder, of Christiansburg, Dianna L. Kinder-Stevers and husband, Rodell, of Blacksburg; sons, David L. Alderman Jr., Britt J. Alderman, and Brandon G. Altizer; stepson, Richie Keith; daughters, Stacy E. Altizer and Amber N. Altizer; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.⁴ She was born on February 7, 1961 at Prince George Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of May 7, 1977,her married name was Alderman.¹ She married David Lee Alderman, son of Gordon Johnson Alderman and Roenie McNeil, on May 7, 1977 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Nancy Ellen Kinder and David Lee Alderman were divorced on November 29, 1984 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.³ Nancy Ellen Kinder died on February 3, 2015 at Virginia at age 53.⁴
