She was a member of the Pilot United Methodist Church in Pilot, and served as pianist there for thirty-seven years. Surviving are her husband, Frank R. Spangler; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph N. and Essie Spangler of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Robert (Bob) Cole of Salem; a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ray Penn, with interment in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Friends may call after noon Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home on February 15, 1996.5
