     Alvah Wayland Arthur Jr. Alvah "Wayland" Arthur Jr., Feb 16, 1960 - Feb 28, 2021. A. Wayland Arthur Jr., 61, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He loved life, his family, and friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sherry; mother, Rebecca; his children, Shawn, Erich (Meredith), and Ben (Michelle); grandchildren, Jason, Breana, Jimi, and Rachel; brothers, Jeff and Brian; and special dog, Trevor.⁴ He was born on February 16, 1960 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4 He married Sherry Lynn Nichols, daughter of James Burton Nichols and Carol Janette Wimmer, on October 9, 2010 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 Alvah Wayland Arthur Jr. died on February 28, 2021 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 61.⁴

     George McClellan Mann Jr. George McClellan Mann Jr. “Rusty”, of Roanoke Virginia, was born March 18, 1930 in Mullens, West Virginia to Sue Slusher and George Mann Sr. Rusty ended his time on earth November 10, 2020 at the age of 90. He passed very peacefully in his home with the love and care of two of his daughters and the remarkable and gentle care of Good Samaritan Hospice. Rusty was a Korean Veteran, railroad retiree, Mason, Shriner, and Harley enthusiast. Some of the family’s fondest memories were cheering him on as he rode in many parades as a member of the Shriner Motor Patrol. He is survived by daughters, Victoria (Tom) Mann Bender, Sheila (Tracy Sledd) Franklin Mann and Helen Elizabeth Mann; Son, James Alvin Mann; grandchildren, Benjamin McCelland Mann, who he helped raise, Elizabeth Cherie Bender, Caroline Lee Bender, Lauren Taylor Sledd and Adam Fitzgerald Sledd. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and the love of his life, Nancy Lee, his wife of 63 years. At Rusty and Nancy’s request a cremation will take place and their ashes spread together at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in the spring of 2021, while flowers are in bloom, with an intimate gathering of family and friends.³ He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ He was born on March 18, 1930 at Mullens, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^2,4,3 He married Nancy Lee Wimmer, daughter of William Sherman Wimmer and Flossie Franklin Green, on June 5, 1955 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2 George McClellan Mann Jr. died on November 10, 2020 at Virginia at age 90.³

Jordon Kilgour of Roanoke; two brothers, Ernie Ridgeway and wife Earline of Franklin County and Mark Ridgeway and wife Leslie of Roanoke; three nephews, Luke Ridgeway of Franklin County and Timothy and Christopher Ridgeway of Roanoke; and two nieces, Nicole and Maggie Ridgeway of Franklin County. on May 22, 2000.⁷

     Samuel Ray Pickerel was buried at Franklin Memorial Park, Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia.^4,5 His Social Security Number was 224-82-8478.⁶ He Samuel Ray "Sammi" Pickerel, 55, of Roanoke, Va., and Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away in Myrtle Beach where he had resided once retired after 20 years of service with Norfolk-Southern Railway. Those left to cherish his memory are two loving daughters, Heather and Krystle Pickerel; his father and mother, Joseph and Mildred Pickerel; brother, Kenny Pickerel; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Cindi Pickerel; sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Jeff Giles; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Carl Padgett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends; and his beloved dog, Ginger. A very talented and loving man, he will always be remembered as having a great time and living life to the fullest, never to be forgotten!
