Salem, passed away Wednesday in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving, besides his parents, are paternal grandparents, Everett and Bochie Harris, Wilcoe, W. Va., maternal grand-mother, Barbara Blankenship, Salem and maternal grandfather, Theodore Blankenship, of Bent Mountain; aunts, Barbara Thompson, Wilcoe, W. Va., Dianna Blankenship, Salem; uncle, Ted Blankenship, Salem, aunts and uncles, Tom and Trina Thompson, Palm Dale, Calif; Buddy and Gay Blankenship, Elliston; great-grandparents, Minnie Blankenship, Salem, Ida Thompson, Bluefield, W. Va., Mrs. Mattie Harris, Wilcoe, W. Va. and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Fisher, Troutville; great-great-grandmother, Florence Fisher, Salem. Interment in Sherwood. on August 17, 1978.³

     Michael Shawn Thurston Michael Shawn Thurston, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. He was born on April 9, 1999. He enjoyed running track and playing football at Floyd County High School. Michael is survived by his parents, Mark and Cindy Thurston and Ginger and James Travis; two brothers, Jack Thurston and Brian Graham. Michael was loved by his many grandparents, uncles, aunt, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kermit Mickey Lee Hill. She is survived by her mother, Helen C. Dennis; sisters, Brenda Gail Booth and Laura Ann Dennis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil M., Jr. and Martha F. Dennis, Richard B. and Kathy M. Dennis. Also surviving are two nephews and two nieces. Interment will follow in Copper Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery. on March 24, 1998.²
