Freeland, died Tuesday evening at a veterans hospital in Topeka, Kan. A native and lifelong resident of Everest, he was born March 23, 1904. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Freeland was a member of the Robinson, Kan., Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M; a charter member of the Everest Community Historical Society; the Everest American Legion Post No. 288; the Kansas Pharmaceutical Association; the Acacia fraternity in Lawrence, Kan; and the Everest Christian Church. Surviving is a sister, Lenore Munsey, Everest. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kan. on October 20, 1983.⁶

Ms. Munsey and her brother Lester owned and operated Freeland Drug Store in Everest for many years. She also was a reporter for the Everest World for many years. She was born Nov. 23, 1906, in Everest, the daughter of Matthew and Nellie Smith Freeland. Ms. Munsey was a member of the First Christian Church at Everest and a charter member of the Everest Historical Society. Ms. Munsey donated her body to The University of Kansas Medical Center for research. Inurnment in Rosehill Cemetery in Robinson will be at a later date. on August 11, 2002.⁶

     Howard Zebda Munsey was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Butte, Silver Bow Co., Montana.^2,3 He was born on March 27, 1902 at Russellville, Hamblen Co., Tennessee.^1,2,4 He married Lenore America Freeland, daughter of Matthew Urias Freeland and Nellie C. Smith, on July 20, 1934 at Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa.^1,2 Howard Zebda Munsey and Lenore America Freeland were divorced before April, 1950.⁵ Howard Zebda Munsey died on November 17, 1952 at Butte, Silver Bow Co., Montana, at age 50.²

     Her married name was Gabriel.¹ Tracy Joy Preusker married Joseph Kevin Gabriel, son of Lawrence Michael "Buddy" Gabriel Sr. and Bernice Mary Libel.¹ Tracy Joy Preusker was born on April 22, 1960.² She died on December 8, 2018 at Lancaster Co., Nebraska, at age 58.²
