In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel DeAnn McGuire; and a sister, Teresa Robin King. She was an 23-year employee of Celanese Acetate, where she most recently worked as a lab technician, and was a member of Hales Chapel United Methodist Church. Born April 2, 1945 in Pearisburg, VA to the late Ward Benjamin Ratcliffe Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Stevens. Eddie was raised in Williamsburg and attended James Blair High School. Eddie then joined the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Ashtabula. After leaving the service, Eddie returned to Virginia in 1966 to marry the love of his life, Rose Marie Lopez. Mr. Ratcliffe started his civilian career as a service technician in the boiler room at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Still feeling the need to serve his country, Eddie joined the US Army Reserves and was voted Drill Sargent of the year in 1982. During his 37 years at Colonial Williamsburg Eddie received his electronic certification, worked in the electronics department, and became a Master Electrician. At the end of his career he was a Foreman of the Mechanical Operations Maintenance Department and was in charge of Operations for many of the merchants on Duke of Gloucester Street where he made many lifelong friends. Eddie was a person of high integrity who was always the first one to offer to help and the last one to ask for it. As a true outdoorsman he was also known for his love of hunting, fishing, and could often be found on his boat or in the woods. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren as well as his entire family will leave a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. Eddie was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Brenda Tuck, Sandra Clausen, and Pennie Crow and one brother; William Ratcliffe. His memory is left to be cherished by his loving wife of 47 years Rose Marie Ratcliffe, two daughters Karen Marie Daniels and her husband Robert, Debra Anne Rony and her husband Paul, and five grandchildren; Ashleigh, William, and Summer Daniels and Chase and Paige Rony. He is also survived by 3 brothers; Ward B. Ratcliffe and his wife Norma, Robert Ratcliffe and his wife Linda, Larry Ratcliffe and his wife Shirley, and one sister Beverly Smith and her husband Greg as well as a host of other loving family. She was born in Covington on Sept. 5, 1949, and graduated from James Blair High School. Pennie worked at Crow's Garage before becoming a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ward B. Ratcliffe; mother, Catherine Ratcliffe Burcham; a brother, William Ratcliffe; and sisters, Brenda Tuck and Sandra Clausen. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James G. Crow; daughters, Lori Crow, Wendy Crow, Jennifer Gardner (Joseph), Melinda Hazelwood (James), Kimberly Crow and Katherine Crow; six grandchildren, Brittney, Brandon, Taylor, Emileigh, Nathaniel, and Landan; and one great-grandchild, Emmanuel.      James Glen "Jim" Crow was born on April 6, 1949 at Browns Crossroads, Clinton Co., Kentucky.^3,4 He married Penny Louise Ratcliffe, daughter of Ward Benjamin Ratcliffe Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Stephens, on August 31, 1967 at Williamsburg, Virginia.^1,2,3 James Glen "Jim" Crow died on October 29, 2017 at Williamsburg, Virginia, at age 68.⁵ He It is with deep and heavy sadness, that we announce the death of James "Jimbo" Glen Crow, who passed on October 29, 2017, at home surrounded by his daughters. He was born in Kentucky in 1949. He lived in Williamsburg most of his life, where he owned and operated Crow's Garage and Crow's Towing for 45 years. Recently retired, he enjoyed spending time at his barn and during winter, spending time camping in Florida. His hobbies included, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents James Arthur Crow and Virginia Louise Crow-St. John; and his devoted wife Pennie. He is survived by two sisters, Olyne Hill and Gail Peavy; six daughters, Lori Crow, Wendy Crow, Jennifer Gardner (Joseph), Melinda Hazelwood (James), Kimberly Crow, and Katherine Crow; six grandchildren, Brittney and Brandon (Grace) Walton, Taylor Gardner, Emileigh Hazelwood, Nathaniel White and Landan Hazelwood; his great grandchildren, Emmanuel, Noah and Eli Walton; and his dog Hunter.
