Always an active young man, Deric is now at rest as he passed away early Saturday morning April 30, 2011 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was 29. Born February 13, 1982 in Mansfield to Ralph D. & Lisa (Clapper) Cook, he remained a lifelong area resident. He was graduated from Madison High vocational welding. He later program to earn the journeyman a sub-contractor with Tradesmen International. Physically strong, Deric earned four varsity letters in wrestling, traveled with the Ohio Team of Greco Roman Free Style Wrestling, and dabbled in Mixed Martial Arts. Though he liked to portray a daredevil, Deric was good hearted - full of compassion - and will be remembered for how much he loved his family and his easy-going personality. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa & Tony Morelli; his sister and brother-in-law, Heather & Ty Turner; and his father and stepmother, Ralph & Heidi Cook all of Mansfield; a son, Tristen J. Cook of Ashland; a daughter, of Ashland; a daughter, Alea Cook of Mansfield; stepbrothers and stepsister, Cody Stevens, Chelsi Smith and Gunnar Smith all of Mansfield; nieces and nephew, Colton, Trinity and Layla; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Clapper of Johnsville; paternal step-grandmother, Donna Cook of Lake Wales, FL; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. on May 4, 2011.2

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 52 years Ernest Poff, her Daughter Pamela Capaldo of Ronceverte WV, a brother Charles Huffman of Mount Solon VA, brother-in-law James Neff of Fayetteville WV. She is survived by a son Richard Poff (Andrea Elek) of Morgantown WV, A sister Mary Neff of Fayetteville WV, a brother Larry Huffman, (Peggy Huffman) of Beckley WV, Sister-in-law Susan Huffman of Mount Solon VA, two grand-daughters Amanda Daniels (Channing Daniels) and Ashley Capaldo (Travis Wright) and six grand-children Lakyn, Tiana, Oaklen, Decan, Raylee, and Scarlet and many nieces and nephews. Sylvia spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a devout Christian and was devoted to helping others. She served the elderly as a home health aide for many years. She also enjoyed volunteer work at the Greenbrier Valley Hospital. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
