Mrs. Porter died Monday, July 24, 2000 at her residence. She was a native of Wyoming, Ohio. She had lived in Houston, Texas for 22 years and had lived in Colmesneil since 1990. She retired as a consultant with Cherokee Hydrocarbon. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Stan Porter of Colmesneil; sons, Charles Porter of Houston, Jeff Porter of Kissimme - St. Cloud, Florida; daughter, Armin Porter and Lore Porter, both of Houston, Candice Porter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lisa Reed of Houston, Shari Gellner of Pinckney, Michigan, Darien Maquire of Des Moines, Iowa; brother, William Whelton of Cincinnati, Ohio and 23 grandchildren.
