She is survived by five grandchildren, Beverly Walker and husband Scott of Wytheville, VA, Wayne "Pete" Arrington, Jr. of Mocksville, NC, Henry "Bill" Arrington and wife Teresa of Princeton, Lisa Kelly Rich and husband Todd of Greensboro, NC, and Joseph Arrington of Princeton who was his grandmother's caregiver for the past seven years; seven great-grandchildren, Victor L. Allen, III, Michael W. Allen, Ashley Lowe, Jessica Arrington, Megan Arrington Harvey, Jason Arrington, and Kaitlyn M. Arrington; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Carl Van Stavern officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Bill Arrington, Victor Allen, III, Michael Allen, Joseph Arrington, and Todd Rich. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee Street, Princeton, WV 24740. on September 13, 2017.3

Born August 11, 1938 in Rock, he was the son of Daphna Pigg Arrington of Princeton the late H. W. Arrington. Wayne grew up in Covel, W.Va. (Wyoming County) playing sports for Herndon High School where he met and married Thelma Barton, a cheerleader. He tried his hand in coal mining but found more opportunities in the construction field. He worked in many of the Eastern seaboard states helping to build airports, bridges and roads before settling down with his family in Princeton around 1964. Wayne worked for the Department of Highways while the East River Mountain Tunnel was being built and helped in the development of Route 460, the Brush Creek relocation, and Interstate 77. He worked for Compton Construction Company as a superintendent on many projects such as the Green Valley-Glenwood PSD in West Virginia and many other large water and water treatment projects in nearby states. In addition to his father, his wife, Thelma Mae Barton Arrington preceded him in death. Additional survivors include three sons, Wayne E. "Pete" Arrington Jr. of Mocksville, N.C., Henry W. "Bill" Arrington of Athens, and Joseph B. Arrington of Princeton; two daughters, Beverly Walker and husband Scott of Wytheville, Va. and Lisa Rich and husband Todd of Greensboro, N.C; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and caregiver, Deborah Sawyers of Princeton. Private family services will be held followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus, 100 Hilltop Lane, Princeton, WV 24740. on June 29, 2011.3

Hall of Beckley; two stepdaughters, Mrs. David (Joyce) McNeely of Suffolk, Va., and Mrs. Frank (Bertha) Hill of Haysi, Va; one brother, Henry Hall of Thornhill; one sister, Bessie Bonham of Thornhill; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 4 stepgrandchildren. Men of the church will be pallbearers and women of the church will carry flowers. on May 10, 1977.3

Brondley Damon Pigg BLUEFIELD - Brondley Damon Pigg, 75, of Route 1, Box 383 (Sandlick), Bluefield, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield. Born Jan. 17, 1926, in Sandlick, he was a son of the late Claude Pigg and Alda Bailey Bird. Mr. Pigg had been a lifelong resident of Sandlick and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier with 35 years service. He was a member of the Sandlick United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir, member of the Rural Letter Carrier Association and a veteran of the Navy serving during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Pigg; and a brother, John William Pigg. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Doris Surface Pigg of Route 1, Bluefield; son, Brondley Joe Pigg and wife, Pamela of Falls Mills, Va; sister, Ernestine King of Asheboro, N.C; and granddaughter, Stacy Pigg of Falls Mills. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Jay Van Reenan officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road, Princeton. Howard 'Bud' Shrader, Lance Bowman, Larry Sigmon, David Bailey, Barry Bowman, Tim White and Billy Grose will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.1
