     Buren Layne "B.R." Furrow Jr. was buried at Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Swenfield Road, Franklin Co., Virginia.³ He was born on February 2, 1946 at Virginia.^2,3 He married Elaine Kay Thurman on April 22, 1978 at Franklin Co., Virginia.² Buren Layne "B.R." Furrow Jr. died on April 1, 2018 at Callaway, Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 72.³ He Buren Layne (B.L.) Furrow Jr., 72 of Callaway, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was born February 2, 1946 to the late Buren Layne Furrow Sr. and Era King Furrow. Excluding a few years he served in the Army during the Vietnam War, he lived his entire life in Callaway, Va. The Callaway community held a special place in his heart. He spent 47 years as a machinist for Fisher Auto Parts. Over the years, he acquired many friends in the automotive and racing industries. He loved bluegrass music and a great partner for a little "flat footing". Survivors include his partner and fiance' for 23 years Alease Hatcher; sons Steven (Lettitia) Furrow and Matthew (Dana) Furrow; grandchildren Ethan, Benjamin, Rylan, and Emerson Furrow; sister Lynda (Henry) Messenger; and several nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Sandra Andrychowski and her husband, Bernie of Fortville, Ind., Sherry Wooldridge and her husband, Frank of Charleston, Duke Okes and his wife, Nancy of Blountville, Tenn, and Roger Okes and his wife, Linda of Roanoke, Va; four grandchildren, Roger and Jeff Wyatt and Andrew and Matthew Okes; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on September 6, 2002.⁴

     Edith Truman Edith Truman Okes, 80, of Beaver, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in a local hospital following a long illness. Born March 16, 1920, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late A.J. and Annie L. Wilberforce Truman. Mrs. Okes was retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education, where she was a secretary for Shady Spring High School. She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Greystone Inn in Beaver. She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit K. Okes, on July 6, 1998; two sisters, Doris Houck and Gladys White; and two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Truman. Survivors include three sons, Gary D. Okes and his wife, Terri, of Richmond, Va., John R. Okes and his wife, Ellen, of Beckley, and Thomas D. Okes and his wife, Misty, of Beaver; two sisters, Evelyn Blymyer of Palmdale, Calif., and Mildred Francisco of Beckley; and six grandchildren, Brandon S. Okes, Justin D. Okes, John Morgan Okes, Tara M. Okes, B.J. Okes, and Steven K. Okes. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. W., Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 His Social Security Number was 346-52-5461.⁸ He was born on August 1, 1955 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,9,4,8 He married Karen Elizabeth Bibb on May 8, 1975 at Sparta, Alleghany Co., North Carolina.⁴ Wilbert Wayne Pruett and Karen Elizabeth Bibb were divorced on May 6, 1977 at Bedford Co., Virginia.⁴ Wilbert Wayne Pruett married Deborah Lynn Caldwell on April 20, 1984 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ Wilbert Wayne Pruett and Deborah Lynn Caldwell were divorced on September 3, 1992 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ Wilbert Wayne Pruett died on October 21, 2007 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 52.^1,2,5,8 He Wilbert Wayne Pruett, 52, of Salem, passed away October 21, 2007. He was predeceased by his father, Wilbert Whittle Pruett. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 24, 2007, 11 a.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on October 22, 2007.¹
