He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II. Professionally, he worked in retail for Sydney's as a buyer and retired after many years. Music played a very significant roll in his life. He was a baritone soloist for many churches in the area as well as with the Roanoke Choral Society and the Roanoke Opera. Frank also directed the Roanoke Chamber Singers for several years. A Toastmaster, he was an accomplished public speaker ranked, at one time, third in the world. He was also a talented calligraphist. Frank's church membership was held at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Juanita Campbell Morris; and son, Bruce Morris. His surviving family includes his wife of 12 years, JoEllen Morris; sons, Frank Dewey Morris III and Scot Morris and wife, Delta; stepson, Paul Arnette and wife, Samantha; former daughter-in-law, Cindy Morris; grandchildren, Melanie, Chrissy, David, Nathan, and Lindsay; and several great-grandchildren. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. The funeral service will then begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Dr. F. Tupper Garden will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name may be made to either the American Heart Association at 4504 Starkey Road, Suite 115, Roanoke, VA 24018 or to the Scholarship Fund of the Thursday Morning Music Club at PO Box 2012, Roanoke, VA 24009. on April 7, 2011.2

Born in Lowell, WV December 11, 1919 he was the son of the late Fleet W. and Ida Mann Lively. Cecil was a real estate agent and broker for over 50 years. He worked for Tynes Realty for 15 years before starting Lively Realty Co. in Princeton, a successful real estate company he owned and operated with his wife and son for 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton where he sang in the church choir for many years. Cecil was a graduate and Salutatorian of Peterstown High School. He was an avid musician and played in several bands through the years. He enjoyed playing music with his friends until his late 80's. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronald C. "Sleep" Lively; one sister, Violet Booth and three brothers, Phillip Arnold Lively, Waymen "Pete" Lively and Edwin "Teb" Lively. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ruth Light Lively of Princeton; three granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Lively of Wytheville, VA, Sarah Elizabeth Turner and her husband Nathan, and Dr. Tara Leigh Mitchell and her husband Ryan all of Princeton; three great-grandchildren, Leigh Ann Lively, Jack Turner and Reid Mitchell; four sisters, Macyl L. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle McNiel; sisters, Carol Clower, June McNiel, and Betty McNiel; brothers-in-law, Stan Clower, Terry Altizer, and Kevin Killeen; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express its gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice for their wonderful support and care during Dan's final days. on February 9, 2020.5

After moving to Titusville in 1956, he was employed as an Electrical Engineer by Lockheed/Martin at Cape Canaveral for 26 years. He was also employed by the Architectural firm of James E. Gibson in Vero Beach for three years. A U.S. Army veteran, Richard served in World War II under General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
