Olivet Baptist Church, Copper Hill, with the Rev. Greg Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. Memorial donations may be made to Mt.      Clyde Eastel Spencer was buried at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia.2 He Clyde E. Spencer, 78, of Martinsville, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. He was born in Meherrin in Loudoun County on Aug. 21, 1929, to Jefferson Davis Spencer and Maggie Dollarhite Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle S. Fain; and five brothers, Dewey Edwards, Murray Edwards, Raymond Edwards, Johnny Spencer and Charlie Spencer. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He retired from Tultex, where he worked for many years as supervisor in the cutting room. He attended First Baptist Church in Ridgeway. Surviving are his wife, Ruby R. Spencer of the home; and one sister, Mabel E. Cooper of Martinsville. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Gary Edwards officiating.
