John was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He also never met a stranger and was one of the kindest, most upbeat people you'd ever meet. John is survived by his wife, Linda, his two siblings, Norma Jane and Durmond and their families, his son James, his daughter Julie, her husband Phil and son Lee, and his daughter Cathie Jane and her two children, Eli and Marley Jane. Followed by the burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on March 19, 2014.5

     Evenor Lee "Mac" McBride Evenor "Mac" Lee McBride, 97, of 4791 Price Road in Stoneville, passed away Tuesday evening, October 23, 2018, at his home. Burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery. A native of the Eden area, Mr. McBride was born August 19, 1921 to the late Charlie Lee McBride and Tida Hall McBride. He was a member of Spray United Methodist Church and a US Army veteran, having attained the rank of 1st Sergeant and Tank Commander, something he was very proud of. On September 18, 2010, he was on the Triad Flight of Honor to Washington, DC with other World War II veterans. Mac was a retiree of E. I. DuPont in Martinsville, VA. He also taught Advanced Welding at Rockingham Community College for 15 years. He was known as a special uncle to his nephew, Danny, and loved his family dearly. He is survived by two step-sons, Guerrant Tredway (Janet) and William Tredway (Teresa), both of Stoneville; seven step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; special nephew, Danny McBride and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Stephens McBride and second wife, Dorothy Tredway McBride; brothers, Allen Dillard McBride, Arlie O'Neal "Feet" McBride and James T. "Toody" McBride. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Debbie's Restaurant, Dick's Drive-In and Hospice of Rockingham County, for all their care and support.6 He was buried at Overlook Cemetery, Eden, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.4,6 He married Dorothy Tredway.6 Evenor Lee "Mac" McBride was born on August 19, 1921 at Draper, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.2,4,5,6 He married Doris Ray Stephens on December 12, 1940 at Danville, Virginia.6,10,7 Evenor Lee "Mac" McBride died on October 23, 2018 at Stoneville, Rockingham Co., North Carolina, at age 97.6

Surviving are her son, James Kenneth McBride of the home; brother, Henry James Reid and wife, Shirley; sisters, Frances R. Reid and Ruth Sherwood all of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. McBride. on March 15, 2007.2

Interment will follow the service in Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. McBride was born in the Spray district of Eden on August 3, 1928 to the late F.W. Thomas and the late Allie Fulcher Thomas. She was a faithful member of Spray Baptist Church. Charlotte was a retiree from Fieldcrest Cannon with over 35 years of service. Mrs. McBride was a former volunteer for Morehead Memorial Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Mrs. McBride is survived by her daughters, Denise Hill and husband, Amos of Eden and Linda Lipford and husband, Robin of King, NC; three grandchildren, Kevin (Logan), Kory, and Sandy; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Peyton and Lena.Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Dillard McBride. on September 19, 2016.3
