A chapel service will be conducted at noon on Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Frank Feather officiating. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on July 26, 1999.3

Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2001 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Dr. Riley Smith, Jr. officiating. Gearhart; three sons, Carl E. of Wilmington; Roy S. of Miami, Fla., and Dewey Q., also of Wilmington, and a sister, Mrs. Audrey Schaffer of Wilmington. on April 10, 1953.4
