In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Lynn Hayes, and by her son, Derrick Palmer. Surviving are three daughters, Tammie Hayes of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Dana Georgianna Hayes of Edenton, and Kelly Palmer of Tyner; a sister, Betty Eskridge Fisher of West Virginia; two brothers, Billie Eskridge of Butner, NC and Larry Eskridge of Catlett, VA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Inurnment will follow at a later time in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. on February 26, 2016.⁵

Davis, an employee of Union Carbide's Alloy plant, apparently came in contact with a wire carrying 440 volts of electricity, an official of the plant said. The accident occurred at 4:20 a.m. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Clay. Surviving: wife, Wyona; daughters, Jennifer Davis at home; stepdaughter, Lora Starcher at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Davis of Clay; brothers, Henry of Clay, David at home; sisters, Mrs. Sharon Stone of Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Debra Frederick of Saint Marys; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis of Clay, Mrs. Georgia Shelton of Lockwood.
