He was surrounded by his loving family, cousins, and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his Parents, Minnie G. and John Flemuel Garren; and his brother, John Wayne Garren. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County; Jerry was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He is survived by his brothers, Charles, Larry, Uyless (Carla), Dennis (Darlene); sisters, Viola Maphis, Dorothy Stinett, Wanda Poe, Glenda Cliff (Larry), and Debra Moody; and many nieces and nephews, they always made him smile. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him. He was strong, independent, likeable and never short of words. His church, family, friends, and his chickens were his life pleasures. Our comfort is knowing he is now with God and in the arms of his Mama whom he has missed so much. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 in Thos. Shepherd’s Church Street Chapel conducted by the Reverend Branton Burleson.
